I love both [name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] I think they are gorgeous names! [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] in the UK is more popular than [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but both names are relatively popular in the UK. For me as popularity isn’t a major issue. So which one is your favourite?
I have a preference for [name_f]Willow[/name_f] due to is softness. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] has a very spunky vibe to me, which is also great!
Try putting the names together with your favorite middle options, or imagine having to yell it out after your possibly naughty child hahaha- somehow the pronunciation of a name when I need to shout it always gives me a good feel on it ”
I prefer [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for three reasons.
the autumn feel
while they’re both nature names [name_f]Willow[/name_f] brings to mind the tree whereas [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] brings to mind poison ivy which isn’t as nice
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] sounds more distinctive, [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is a lot like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Ava[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f] and they’re all really popular
I prefer [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. It’s simultaneously sleek and pretty to me and has a spunky to it I love. I had it on my list for my daughter but it’s quite popular in Australia, too, and that bothered me. I do like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but it’s quite popular here too. I prefer [name_f]Willa[/name_f] I think.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your naming style! While both are lovely names I just about prefer [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]… while it is fairly popular in the UK it is more classic and timeless than [name_f]Willow[/name_f], which could be a trend/phase name
I’ve never been a fan of [name_f]Willow[/name_f], to be perfectly honest. It’s one of those names that seemed wildly popular on the internet a few years ago (sort of like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f]), to the point where I got tired of seeing it, if that makes any sense?
