Hello, we think we have settled on a first name of baby #7! but are still unsure of her middle name, which name best fits with our other kids names?
Our other kids are: [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] (she gets called [name_u]Scout[/name_u] by the family) [name_m]Felix[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] (he is often called [name_m]Fox[/name_m]) [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] Brave
[name_u]Gray[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] (she is often called [name_m]Pip[/name_m] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f])
and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Lola[/name_f]
so the names we are thinking for #7 are:
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] - [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is DH’s mothers maiden name and would be sweet to honor her.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] - This is my favourite, but DH doesn’t agree with me.
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Hero[/name_u] - We have been wanting [name_u]Hero[/name_u] as a middle name for a long time to honour ALL of the heroes in our life.
We are also tossing around [name_f]Greta[/name_f] as a first name so:
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is lovely, but I agree [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] fits better. But love more [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] all sound great
[name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is lovely with your kids’ names and it’s great the middle name is meaningful. [name_f]Greta[/name_f] feels more old fashioned than [name_f]Flora[/name_f] compared to your other girls’ names.
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] sounds good. I know it’s to honor people, but [name_u]Hero[/name_u] as a name is just wrong to me. Sorry.
I would have chosen [name_f]Greta[/name_f] over [name_f]Flora[/name_f] if you didn’t already have a [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] ([name_f]Greta[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are similar in sound). However, I do think [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is the “best fit” for your family. The combo of [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] doesn’t have the best flow but family meaning trumps that issue every time.
[name_u]Blair[/name_u] has the most meaning, plus it keeps the tradition of each child having a one syllable name in the mix. I prefer [name_f]Greta[/name_f] to [name_f]Flora[/name_f], but I don’t like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] with [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] seems to match better with your children.
Oh, I adore [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]. I think the flow is great, and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is perfect with your kids names. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Hero[/name_u] is rather dashing–I love [name_u]Hero[/name_u] the Shakespearean name, though I’m less keen on [name_u]Hero[/name_u] to honor firefighters etc as then it feels a bit odd.
The a to o transition in [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] gets my tongue a bit tangled.
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] is my favorite of the [name_f]Greta[/name_f] options–and I do like [name_f]Greta[/name_f] quite a lot, but [name_f]Flora[/name_f] seems to go better with your kids.
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] is my favourite. I’m a sucker for family names, especially maiden names. Two of my kids have their grandmother’s maiden names in the middle, and the next one is bound to have mine in the middle That said, I absolutely [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] the idea of using [name_u]Hero[/name_u] in the middle. I’ve loved it since seeing Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f] About Nothing several years ago ([name_f]Kate[/name_f] Beckinsale brings her to life on screen). If [name_u]Blair[/name_u] doesn’t suit her, PLEASE go for [name_u]Hero[/name_u]!
Wow thanks everyone seems that [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u] are the favorites - which is funny because they are our faves too.
[name_u]Hero[/name_u] was not to honor firefighters or any public heroes but the heroes if our family, it also is to honor my father who is a [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] fan (he did act in a production of Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f] About Nothing so we thought that was kind if sweet. Which name Fliws better with our last name H@rris?
I love [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] especially with your other childrens names (which are stunning)
I personally don’t like [name_f]Flora[/name_f], along the same vein as it means flower (like [name_f]Flora[/name_f]) in [name_m]French[/name_m] is [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] which I far prefer, [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] sounds wonderful too but for the [name_f]Flora[/name_f] options I’d pick [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_u]Blair[/name_u]
