[name]Autumn[/name] or [name]Ruby[/name]?
That’s tricky - I’m tempted to say [name]Ruby[/name], simply because [name]Autumn[/name] ends in a consonant, which makes it seem less classically pretty to me, however both conjur up beautiful images - [name]Ruby[/name] of gemstones and [name]Autumn[/name] of a lovely collage of crisp, fallen leaves and candy apples and cool evenings. I think I’ll say [name]Autumn[/name], simply because it’s my personal favourite, and I believe it is also a little less popular.
You could make this into a poll. Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]
Ooo I love the way you have put that. Yeah they both conjure up nice images. A toughie Lol
If you can think of a middle name to go with [name]Autumn[/name], that’s another difficulty, I think it would suit a one syllable name. I don’t want one beginning with “s” though. I didn’t do a poll as I like seeing peoples comments, it sometimes helps.

[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Love[/name] (okay, definitely too word-y. But it’s sweet, so I had to mention it!)
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Liv[/name]
Two syllables (probably not the best for flow if you also have a two syllable last name, though)
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Odette[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Sophie[/name] (an S name, though)

Good luck!
[name]Ruby[/name], but only just!! [name]Both[/name] very pretty!
[name]Both[/name] are very pretty, but I prefer [name]Ruby[/name]!
I like [name]Autumn[/name], but both are pretty. Good choices!
MN suggestion is [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name]. Its slightly whimsical and fanciful - lovely name.
Not loving [name]Ruby[/name]. I’m hearing it a lot and I wouldn’t really define it as a “pretty” name necessarily.
I think [name]Ruby[/name] is prettier; however, why choose? [name]Autumn[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is a great name combination. So pretty!!!
Well… the only [name]Autumn[/name] I ever “knew” of was the [name]Autumn[/name] who just married [name]Princess[/name] [name]Anne[/name]'s (UK) son [name]Peter[/name]. So this [name]Autumn[/name] married the grandson of the [name]Queen[/name]. She also turns out to be Canadian (woot) and she looks like an [name]Autumn[/name]. I thought the name was very pretty (but then, being tied to Royalty and inheriting millions of dollars has a very prettying effect!)!
I choose [name]Ruby[/name].
Sure, [name]Ruby[/name] may be “cooler” on Nameberry, but it’s easy to forget that Nameberry-namers are much more ahead than regular namers. [name]Ruby[/name] is actually farther down on the charts than [name]Autumn[/name] (it’s not quite breaking the 100 mark, while [name]Autumn[/name] has been at the 70s-80s-90s area for quite a while). And I’m partially biased with [name]Autumn[/name]–I’ve met so many [name]Summers[/name] that [name]Autumn[/name] just seems like a slightly-dated replacement. Really, the only season name I like is [name]Winter[/name]. But that’s just me. ( :
I think that the vowels in [name]Ruby[/name] are so pretty. [name]Rue[/name] is a cute nn, too. I love that this is both stands for the fierce color red and a lovely jewel. I think that if I used this name, I’d be tempted to put it with a mn that had a “hidden” red/jewel meaning. (Aka, not [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Scarlet[/name] or [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Garnet[/name]). For example,
*[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Kamala[/name] (“pale red” -Sanskrit)
*[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] (“dark red” -English)
*[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Sienna[/name] (“orange-red” -English)
or
*[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Peninnah[/name] (“precious stone” -Hebrew)
*[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Petra[/name] / [name]Petrina[/name] / [name]Perrine[/name] (“rock” -Greek, [name]German[/name], Scandinavian, Finnish, Dutch, Czech, Slovak, Slovene, Bulgarian, Croatian, Hungarian, English / English / French)
Also, names with the same beginning as [name]Autumn[/name]:
[name]Audrey[/name] & [name]Aubrey[/name]–both crisp, the first bringing back memories of Breakfast at [name]Tiffany[/name]'s and the second of auburn ([name]Auburn[/name] being another name possibility).
[name]Audra[/name]–mainly used in [name]Scotland[/name], name is a softer, more intriguing [name]Audrey[/name]-lookalike.
[name]Augusta[/name]–rich and regal. Cute nn’s are [name]Aggie[/name] (as long as you don’t live in [name]Texas[/name], as this is very much associated with [name]Texas[/name] A&M) and [name]Gussie[/name].
[name]Aurelia[/name]–beautiful, timeless and princess-like.
[name]Aurora[/name]–like the sunrise, quite literally.
[name]Austen[/name]–for [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name] fans.
[name]Austria[/name]–unused place-name.

[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Autumn[/name]!
[name]Ruby[/name] will be too childish when she grows up!
I like [name]Autumn[/name], it sounds unique, very beautiful and delicate)
I agree with the person who said why choose? The two names together make a wonderful combo! [name]Autumn[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is pretty and I also think [name]Ruby[/name] [name]Autumn[/name] has a certain spunkiness to it.
