[name_m]Hi[/name_m],
We have a baby girl due in [name_f]May[/name_f] and I did think I had the name we were going to use, but now i’m not so sure. I have posted before about nn for this name.
[name_m]Just[/name_m] would like opinions on which name would go better with siblings name.
Our last name is 3 letters, one syllable and starts with O. Siblings are
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (called [name_u]Alex[/name_u])
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] ([name_m]Zac[/name_m])
[name_m]William[/name_m] ([name_m]Will[/name_m]) and I like:
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (unsure nn maybe [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Millie[/name_f] or Meely) or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (other name I like but as one syllable not so sure with last name).
Which one would go better, any other suggestions welcome.
thanks
I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] for you
Some suggestions:
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] ([name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] ([name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], [name_f]Flo[/name_f], [name_u]Ren[/name_u])
[name_f]Bethan[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_u]Josie[/name_u])
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Maddy[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f])
I like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] with this sibset. Some more NN options include [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and [name_f]Mila[/name_f], both of which are so sweet!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] would like your opinions and suggestions on the names:
I want a classic (timeless?) and pretty name.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] sounds really nice with the sibset. If you don’t already have a middle name, [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would go really nicely together. Here are some suggestions:
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
Some suggestions for you:
Margaret
Madeleine
Frances
Laura
Elizabeth
Olivia
Maybelle
Victoria
Mary
Annabel
Marianne
Tamara
Felicity
Evelyn
Carolyn
Amalia
Good luck!
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] seems like a very solid fit for you.
I really love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] with your sibset. It’s elegant, simple, refined, and classic. I also like that it gives each child their own initial. The first suggestion that popped into my head was [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is lovely with the brother names. Lots of great nn options:
[name_f]Millie[/name_f]–my favorite
[name_f]Mila[/name_f]
[name_f]Amy[/name_f]
[name_u]Mel[/name_u] or [name_f]Mellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Mia[/name_f]
Thank you to all who replied. I will continue to think about it, and the other suggestions.
Jonquils wrote - Is a nickname imparative, or just a nice bonus? Yes, I think knowing how I’ve named the boys that she would have a pet form of her name if its [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - as its a 4 syallable name. That’s the part I am struggling with as not sure which one. I know a ‘nickname’ is potentially different as people have pointed out, but with the boys name we chose I really liked the shortened name we were going to call them, ie [name_m]William[/name_m] to me was ok, but I really loved [name_m]Will[/name_m].
Also when I read the nameberry description of [name_f]Claire[/name_f] I thought, wow, that’s so lovely and characteristics I would want for a daughter. Thanks whoever wrote that!
It would sound nice for a middle name but I want to use a family name, likely [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Angela[/name_f].
Thinking [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Angeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Angela[/name_f]…
