Which Name?

I simply want to know which name you think fits better with the characters for my story. It’s set in the present day, in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] City. It’s about a group of super heroines who are recruited by a society that does all sorts of human rights related things, from helping a little girl who is crying to saving the world from total destruction. I have most of my characters figured out, but I can’t narrow down all the names that I want to use.

The first is a 14 year old girl who is super smart and resourceful. She has a very high iq, she graduated highschool at age 8, then got her bachelors from [name_m]Harvard[/name_m] and her masters from [name_m]Penn[/name_m]. she now has nothing to do, so when she hears about this secrect society dedicated to helping people, of course she applies. She’s very smart, and can outwit any opponent, making her a very effective person, however, she has basically no physical strength. She is also very emotionally vulnerable and has never really had a friend. The names I like for her are: Mabeline, Maybelline [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Madilyn[/name_f], [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f], and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. She has two younger twin sisters who I might call [name_f]Eva[/name_f] & [name_u]Echo[/name_u] or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f].

The second is a 17 year old who is a shapeshifter, but the catch is that she can only shapeshift if she’s touching the thing she wants to shift into. She carries around a bag filled with stuff she might want to shift into at any given moment. She was a bit of a problem child at school, she would play pranks on teachers and students alike, and she never really had much fun there, so she wanted to graduate early. She did, and since she didn’t want to college she decided to apply to the society. She’s a huge tomboy, and a trouble maker. Names I like for her are: [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Kit[/name_u], [name_u]Scout[/name_u], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Jo[/name_u],[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Ash[/name_u]. She has a younger brother named [name_m]Levi[/name_m].

The third is a 19 year old who has super strength. She is very seductive and manipulative and can talk herself out of anything. She’s very feminine as well. She passed through school relatively unnoticed, as she was a very quiet kid, but in her shyness there was a fire. She was born with her power, but nobody noticed except her, and she wisely kept it quiet. She enrolled at NYU, but never really went, instead she dropped out to join the society. Names I like for her are: [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_u]Echo[/name_u], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. She has an illegitimate child named [name_f]Crimson[/name_f].

The last is a 9 yea role who is a trained assassin. She was trained as a child soldier by a secret government society in [name_f]England[/name_f] which has since dissolved. She can’t even count how many ways she can kill a man. She’s very agile and sneaky. She never went to normal school. She is still very much a 9 year old, she really likes making friendship bracelets and her monster high dolls, but she’s also very much an adult, in that she knows a lot about the adult world, having grown up in a society that was training her to kill adults. She decided to join the society in [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] because she had nowhere to go, no family, and she wanted to get back on the right path. Names I like for her are: Alixandria nn [name_u]Alix[/name_u], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].

The names that I suggested for multiple characters I would only use for one.

I also have absolutely no ideas on what to call the society. At all.

Thanks guys!

  1. I like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], though [name_f]Maybelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] might be nice too (Maybelline is too tied to the make up-brand). For her younger sisters, I don’t think the names should be too matchy. While they’re twins, it could be confusing for readers. A few ideas for the twin sisters:
    [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
    [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] and [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
    [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
    [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
    [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
    [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Esme[/name_f]

  2. With a younger brother named [name_m]Levi[/name_m], I like the idea of [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] nn [name_u]Jo[/name_u]. It feels the same as [name_m]Levi[/name_m], without being too similar.

  3. I like [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] best, though it’s a bit similar to the name of her child, [name_f]Crimson[/name_f]. If you don’t mind, I don’t think it’t be an issue.

  4. Since this takes place in modern day [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] would make the most sense for a nine-year old.

  1. All of those names seem a bit too frilly for her, in my opinion. I like [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] or [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] for her.
  2. I like [name_u]Scout[/name_u] for her quite a bit. [name_u]Kit[/name_u] works really well too, but not [name_f]Katharine[/name_f].
  3. It’s definitely unusual, maybe a little unrealistic, but I like [name_u]Echo[/name_u] for her. It’s a little ironic, considering she’s manipulative. Yeah, I like it.
  4. [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], definitely.
