I keep coming back to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but can’t quite settle in it. And do you think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would work if I don’t like the name [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]? I would want her to be called [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] the best and people should respect that she would be called [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with no nicknames if that is what you specify.
Yeah I would hope that she would just be called [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and people would respect that. But she may decide she wants to be called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Isla[/name_f] too. Concerned a little about people mispronouncing it though and calling her Is-la.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a popular name at the moment so your daughter might ask her friends to call her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]/[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]/Some other nickname in order to avoid being just another [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
Of course you can still call her [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
I would go for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] or [name_f]Liv[/name_f] since
People might pronounce [name_f]Isla[/name_f] the wrong way a lot, which, trust me is annoying ive got lots of experience
and 2) I am not sure but if I remember well [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is also popular at the moment, even though I really love it
I like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] just fine. I think adults wouldn’t call your daughter [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] unless you introduce her as such, and yes perhaps friends will shorten her name in future. But [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a classic feminine choice.
My second choice would be [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] it matches [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s style closely, classic and elegant.
I love [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - also, I wouldn’t automatically think of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] from [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], maybe [name_f]Lottie[/name_f] but most Charlottes that I’ve known have kept their full name and no one’s bothered by it aha
My favourites are [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f] from your list. I know two Charlottes; one is always called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] and the other is always called [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] so I don’t believe [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is a given-I definitely think you could have a [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and not give her a nickname, it’s only two syllables long! But if you really can’t settle into [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f] would be my choice for a back up name.
[name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] are my favorites. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is lovely and classic, though, and I think you could dissuade people from calling her [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] by just correcting them to [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (I also like [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]) if it comes up
