Which Name?

Hello all, we are expecting our third child and would love to know which name you all like best.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alyssa[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]

Last name will be Umansky and we are unsure about names that end in with the same sound as our surname. Thank you

My favorite is [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], followed by [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

I’m not a fan of [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], since they end in the same sound as your surname, and I don’t think one-syllable names ([name_f]Liv[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]) flow as well either.

I’m a super big fan of both [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] but, as pointed out, I’m not sure how well they flow with your last name. That being said, I think either could work if you decide it’s the right name. Other than those two, [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is my top choice!

I really like all the names on your list except [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] - which is a bit dated and lispy to my ears. However I don’t like them all with your surname. I don’t think the ‘y/ie’ endings of [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] are a problem, (I rather like the repeated ‘y/ie’ sounds where there is a 2 syllable then a 3 syllable name). It’s the vowel ending and beginnings of the combo running together which don’t work well. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] Umansky has too many vowels for me, and [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] Umansky is okay, but they still run together. Same with [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].

I think one syllable names work fine with Umansky, and [name_f]Liv[/name_f] Umansky is my favourite combo from your list. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] doesn’t flow so well not because it’s 1 syllable but maybe because the repeated ‘n’ sounds don’t work? [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] works well. So, my picks are [name_f]Liv[/name_f] then [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

Echoing above that [name_f]Emma[/name_f] and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] work really nicely with your last name. Normally I steer away from [name_f]Emma[/name_f] because it’s just soooo popular but [name_f]Emma[/name_f] Umansky is amazing. I also think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would work nicely.

I prefer the shorter ones, Ivy & Liv. Ivy Umansky is lovely, and I actually quite like the repeated endings together. As you’re not so sure of that though, Liv Umanksy would get my vote. She’s short and simple, not as common as some of the others, yet easily recognisable.

I also think Emma Umansky is nice – albeit her excessive commonality these days, I do adore sweet little Emma.
