I adore [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f]. It’s so sophisticated and chic (at least to me). [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be a lovely combo and I would love to meet a [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Of course some may find it too heavy with religious images. I love [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] but not with [name_f]Martha[/name_f] (Ma-Ma) as well as [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] for a middle name only. I prefer [name_f]Margery[/name_f] spelled this way as in the nursery rhyme “See Saw [name_f]Margery[/name_f] [name_m]Daw[/name_m]”.
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] is usable, especially with the nn [name_f]Addie[/name_f].
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] nn [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is as well.
[name_f]Nina[/name_f] is definitely! I love the name [name_f]Nina[/name_f], and [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] is pretty too.
I really like [name_f]Martha[/name_f] but probably would not combine it with [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]. And I kind of like [name_f]Nina[/name_f] but [name_f]Nina[/name_f] [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] is a little much for me!
I love Be a/[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], it’s one of my favorite names. And I love [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
I find [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] a little demeaning; I know it isn’t always used that way, but its traditional use as a somewhat infantilizing nn is too much for me to look part. Plus it reminds me of Lady [name_u]Bird[/name_u] [name_m]Johnson[/name_m]. And my husband has a moral fear of birds, and it his disdain kind of rubs off!
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] is a little too [name_m]Wizard[/name_m] of [name_m]Oz[/name_m] for me, and [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] and [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f] feel a little more middle-aged than vintage.
