I prefer [name_u]Auden[/name_u], from your list
[name_u]Skylar[/name_u] sound too feminine; and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] is too harsh for my liking.
I’m really torn between [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] and [name_u]Auden[/name_u]! If I had to chose, I’d go with [name_u]Auden[/name_u]
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] and [name_u]Auden[/name_u] are my favourites, I don’t think I could choose between them!
I always try to put a ‘k’ on [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] to make it skylark, whether I’m typing the name or saying it. That’s not a bad association at all, just odd for me
I really like [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] best:)
I love [name_u]Auden[/name_u]/[name_m]Audun[/name_m]! If you’re using the Norwegian pronunciation, I would use the Norwegian spelling. [name_u]Auden[/name_u] I would pronounce like the poet.
Thanks for the feedback!
We like boy names that are used for girls, so that’s not a mark against [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] for us - [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] is another we were considering.
I love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] but worry it might seem too much like [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] - a name I really like but we don’t really want to be associated with the [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]/[name_u]Jayden[/name_u]/[name_m]Caiden[/name_m]/[name_m]Braden[/name_m] craze, which gets a ton of hate. We also both love [name_u]Auden[/name_u] the poet (fiancé taught poetry and is a published poet himself) but don’t generally like surname-names. So I wonder if [name_m]Audun[/name_m] would help avoid both of those issues. I think I do slightly prefer the [name_m]Audun[/name_m] pronunciation, too, and it’s cool to have a name that honors my Norwegian heritage - my own name is Norwegian as well. What do y’all think?
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] is lovely and so unique, and might still be my fiancé’s favorite, though we both have fallen in love with [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] lately.
I like [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] and [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] a lot. Like I think you should look at [name_u]Shannon[/name_u] again
However, if I remember correctly, [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] seemed like “the” name for you. If something is calling to you, don’t ignore it!
I actually love [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] for a boy, though I prefer the [name_u]Skyler[/name_u] spelling. [name_u]Sky[/name_u] is just such a lovely nickname :).
I love unisex names on boys too, so don’t get discouraged by people saying it’s a feminine name. I think it suits either gender just fine!
