I’ve been collecting names that have magical and botanical vibes and are unique, and I’d like to hear your opinions.
Please choose your favorite from the names below and tell me what you think of it and whether it is common or not.
Please let me hear your voice, thank you
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Fern[/name_f]!
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] - a beautiful name! it reminds me of [name_u]Eleven[/name_u] , which reminds me of stranger things
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]- its ok , it reminds me of a makeup brand
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - i cant see any thing else but the porn star [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] , but it is beautiful
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] - LOVEEEE
[name_u]Briar[/name_u] - love this name! it reminds me of brian (my grandpas name)
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] - beautiful , cottagecore vibes, UGH I LOVE
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] - gives me grandma vibes , not a huge fan
I love [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_u]Briar[/name_u], they’re both unique yet classically beautiful. They give otherworldly feeling that can be kept close to earth by being botanical. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is a gorgeous names, however it’s not really in my naming style, but [name_u]Briar[/name_u] is on my list.
my favourite is ophelia ! it’s magical to say, rich and dark and dramatic and beautiful, and although tragic, i love the connection to hamlet. i wouldn’t call it common, but i’ve known more than one and i think it’s still rising. it reads to me as being in a bit of a popularity sweet spot actually; familiar, but it still feels a bit unusual.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]! I haven’t meet an [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] in real life.
omg such a good list, so hard to chose. i think my favorite is [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]. it does indeed sound magical. i love the way it sounds and how it rolls off your tongue. i don’t know anyone named [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] but could see it fitting any age perfectly!!
i was between [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] and [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] also for my favorite they sound so amazing. ugh i also am in love with [name_u]Briar[/name_u]! [name_u]Briar[/name_u] just didn’t have the same vibes as the other names however i love it just as much
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite of these is [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. It best fits my personal list which is heavy on short botanical names. I like that it’s extremely unusual but instantly recognizable, too.
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] would be second pick because she’s elegant and vintage and I love [name_f]Rosy[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] is common, but she might blend in with the greater family of [name_f]Rose[/name_f]- names.
The only other ones on your list that I like are [name_u]Briar[/name_u] and [name_f]Avalon[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Avalon[/name_f] as a middle or the name of like a store or brand, but it’s just so magical.
Out of your list, I think [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] is my favourite although I also really like [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] & [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]. [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] reminds me of the song ‘Ophelia’ by The Lumineers which is a song with good memories.
[name_f]My[/name_f] personal associations (mostly literary:)
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f]- too much like [name_m]Lord[/name_m] of the Rings
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f]- too much like [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]- too [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]- I love it, just makes me think of stars
[name_u]Briar[/name_u]- It sounds a bit masculine but I like it!
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]- I loooooove it and would have named my daughter that if my husband agreed. Charlotte’s [name_m]Web[/name_m]!
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]- too [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]
[name_m]Can[/name_m] I suggest [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]? I think that’s a lovely underused botanical name.
From favorite to least favorite: [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], [name_u]Briar[/name_u], [name_f]Avalon[/name_f].
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] was my favorite, and I think it’s pretty and substantial! It’s a bit magical and and botanical to me, but it is primarily a solid vintage name, more down to earth than many of your other options. Because it has a long history, it feels less unique and more underused.
