I think [name]Lilith[/name] and [name]Pandora[/name] are definitely ready for a comeback. I hear more and more positive associations with [name]Pandora[/name] probably because of the jewelry line. And [name]Lilith[/name] is a nice way to get to [name]Lily[/name] for people like me who don’t mind/know the biblical association. I could only pick one so I chose [name]Lilith[/name], but I definitely think [name]Pandora[/name] also. I don’t think [name]Delilah[/name] ever went out.
Why is [name]Lucretia[/name] a bad girl? I feel like I’ve missed something.
Oops, I meant to give people more than one option, I wonder if I can edit the poll?
[name]Lucretia[/name] reminds many people of [name]Lucretia[/name] Borgia, who was famous for having “been with” her brother, and used her sexuality as a weapon to gain political power for herself and her family.
It’s funny, [name]Delilah[/name] was my most favoritest name as a child, but everyone I mentioned it to seemed to say that it meant a harlot. It’s weird how peoples impressions can be so different!
I love [name]Lilith[/name], I wish it was the one to make a comeback. So I picked that for “should.” My second choice would [name]Morrigan[/name] for “should.”
I really think it’s likely [name]Delilah[/name] or [name]Jezebel[/name] to do it… but they give me the shudders. A lot of people like the sound of [name]Delilah[/name] but I detest it and the imagery associated with it. I wouldn’t find that cute or empowering on a little girl at all. But if it was strictly which ones do I think likeliest to comeback, probably [name]Delilah[/name] would be it, regardless of how I feel about it personally.
[name]Circe[/name] is one of my favorites of this list. [name]Lilith[/name] comes second. I’ve always loved the name [name]Delilah[/name] but when I heard Plain White Tee’s song “Hey There, [name]Delilah[/name]” for the first time on the radio, I kinda lost interest in the name. My least favorite of them all is [name]Medea[/name]. I love the story of [name]Medea[/name] and [name]Jason[/name] but I think a girl with that name will be teased because of the saying “[name]Calm[/name] down, [name]Medea[/name]”. I’ve heard the phrase quite often at my high school.
It’s too bad [name]Lilith[/name] has the meaning and connections that it does, because I think it’s such a sweet, soft, feminine name! Then again, not many people really read into the meanings of names, so maybe it’s still one to consider.
See I love [name]Circe[/name], [name]Lilith[/name] (and I know one just born), [name]Lucretia[/name] and [name]Morrigan[/name], which I considered for my own list at one point. I think [name]Jezebel[/name] has a nice sound, but that people will always associate it with the Bible bad girl, [name]Delilah[/name] is already back in popularity, [name]Salome[/name] is nice but I had a Renaissance [name]Drama[/name] Class and the teacher would always try to mispronounce the name is salami, [name]Pandora[/name] will never be good to me as she brought badness into the world and everyone knows that because of “[name]Pandora[/name]'s Box”, [name]Lolita[/name] is child sexuality and I can’t get behind that at all, [name]Medea[/name] is getting attention due to the [name]Medea[/name] movies.
I would add [name]Morgana[/name] as she was the evil sister of [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] and I love it.
While I would love to see [name]Lolita[/name] come back, I agree that it has different issues from the others on the list. [name]Lolita[/name] had her childhood stolen from her. Such a sad (though extremely well-written) novel.
I chose [name]Delilah[/name]. I think [name]Pandora[/name] could come back too.
I love [name]Circe[/name] and [name]Lucretia[/name], and like [name]Lilith[/name], [name]Morrigan[/name] and [name]Salome[/name] as well. [name]Delilah[/name]'s made quite a comeback already; I’m just not personally a fan of it.
I think [name]Jezebel[/name], [name]Medea[/name] and [name]Pandora[/name] could potentially be usable if you’re VERY adventurous and don’t give a damn what others think, but I wouldn’t recommend any of them. [name]Lolita[/name] is a huge, huge no way. That novel and movie are very well-known, and naming your child [name]Lolita[/name] knowing it carries that association is borderline cruelty to me.
I think [name]Circe[/name] could make a come back, especially with the exposure it’s getting via Game of Thrones. People may spell it Cersei though,as it is in the books.
[name]Don[/name]'t think [name]Delilah[/name] ever went out. I’ve always rather liked [name]Pandora[/name],but the fact it is now a brand puts me off.
I voted [name]Lolita[/name], as I really like it regardless of the obvious association. I prefer (and just adore) [name]Lalita[/name] though. I also like [name]Circe[/name] (which I can definitely see coming back, in various forms, due to the also brilliantly evil and badass character Cersei Lannister in ‘Game of Thrones’), [name]Lilith[/name], [name]Pandora[/name] and [name]Medea[/name].
I’d love to see more of these except [name]Lolita[/name] and [name]Pandora[/name]. And I’m pretty meh about [name]Salome[/name], as are [name]Lucretia[/name] and [name]Delilah[/name].
But it’s a tough choice between [name]Lilith[/name], [name]Morrigan[/name] and [name]Circe[/name] for my favorite.
I love [name]Lilith[/name], and I can’t decide if it should be on my list or not. As for names likely to make a comeback: [name]Delilah[/name] for sure, [name]Pandora[/name] (lots of the ora names are popular right now), [name]Lilith[/name] (all the other Lil names are in), and maybe [name]Circe[/name].
Overall, I chose [name]Lilith[/name]. But I think they all have a chance:
[name]Jezebel[/name] - I can see the appeal. It’s kind of like [name]Isabella[/name] / [name]Isabel[/name] and co., so it could come back.
[name]Circe[/name] - I really like this. Reminds me of Cersei, a Song of Ice and [name]Fire[/name] (or Game of Thrones) name. So it could also come back.
[name]Delilah[/name] - an absolute favourite of mine, has already made a comeback!
[name]Salome[/name] - another favourite but I think a character or celebrity baby will have to be called this before everyone gets the pronunciation.
[name]Lilith[/name] - another favourite. With all the [name]Lil[/name]- names it should come back.
[name]Pandora[/name] - another favourite. Since [name]Nora[/name] is getting popular, [name]Dora[/name] will get popular which could make room for [name]Pandora[/name]? [name]Just[/name] an idea.
[name]Lucretia[/name] - ANOTHER favourite! I reckon you could get away with this, as the Borgia was actually called [name]LucreZia[/name], with the Z, rather than [name]LucreTia[/name]. Plus there’s [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Lucia[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] and all those names, and [name]Luc[/name]/a is kinda of a cool tomboy nickname.
[name]Morrigan[/name] - This, and [name]Morgana[/name] as PP mentioned. Since [name]Morgan[/name] and [name]Megan[/name] were popular, I think it has a chance.
[name]Lolita[/name] - It’ll be a loooong time, but it might get there once [name]Lola[/name] becomes really popular and [name]Dolores[/name] gets popular, maybe in 40 years.
[name]Medea[/name] - I like the sound, I think it might come back along with [name]Lydia[/name].
I love [name]Delilah[/name] and [name]Lilith[/name]! They are both beautiful and I would love to meet a little baby [name]Delilah[/name] or [name]Lilith[/name]. Gorgeous names.
