I would say that all but [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] fit that description, but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] probably fits it best, followed by [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] makes me think of the spunky little cartoon character. The name sounds elegant, but the character was adorable and spirited.
I’d have to say [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] fits best into the lively description. [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] feels the most elegant. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] are both names that I’ve heard so many times that they now feel completely watered-down to me. So, certainly not lively. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is probably my personal favorite of the five names, but maybe not exactly lively and elegant, imo.
Lively, happy, and elegant - great goal!
Personally, I would rule out [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. It has been way over-used for decades (at least among my students) and does not feel fresh or lively. I also tend to think of an older woman like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] Gruen, [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_u]Drew[/name_u]'s housekeeper.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is an elegant name, no doubt, but again it has been used too much, not to mention all the Madisons, Madelines, Maddies, etc. 15 years ago I might have gone with it, but not now.
This leaves [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. Each seems fairly lively and happy to me. I’m not sure I would use elegant to describe them though. Attractive, pretty, nice names, but not super elegant. I might rule out [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] because [name_f]Liz[/name_f] or [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] are not elegant in my book, just ugly.
So I would vote for [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and possibly keep looking as well.
Good luck and have fun!
I would say [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] best fits that description, followed by [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] then [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
I would choose [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for the lively sound in the name, but for elegance I’d pick [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] get my vote
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f].
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] embodies all the characteristics you mentioned.
I think that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] fits those characteristics really well.
Definitely [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!
I love all of these names, but I always loved [name_f]Alice[/name_f] a lot.
I think [name_f]Hana[/name_f] suits lively and elegant. Otherwise [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] for something lively.
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] sounds the most lively to me while [name_f]Alice[/name_f] sounds the most elegant. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is the only name I think doesn’t fit these qualities (I just think of a mean, frumpy, old woman).
I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and think it fits all three of those qualities!
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] reminds me of My Fair Lady. And there’s a song about [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] the tattooed lady, I think in a [name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_m]Williams[/name_m]’ movie. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] reminds me of the Biblical figure. I’d have to go with [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f].
Usually I think lively and elegant names don’t overlap, but [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] just might fit the bill.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] fits it the best, followed by [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]. All lovely names, however!
Thanks for your answers everyone! I think I’m leaning towards [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] but still feel a bit hesitant about its sound…
eliza for sure.
