I like a few of these names, but voted for [name_f]Ida[/name_f] as it’s the only one that I would use in the first name spot. I also like [name_f]Irene[/name_f] as it’s my grandmother’s name and we’re very close. [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], [name_f]Maud[/name_f] (I never know which spelling I prefer - at the moment, it’s this one), [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f].

I voted [name_f]Doris[/name_f], because it has special significance to me, but then so does [name_f]Maude[/name_f], which I also adore. If I could just pick my favourites, it would be: [name_f]Doris[/name_f], [name_f]Maude[/name_f], [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Edna[/name_f] and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], but I love them all (except [name_f]Bertha[/name_f], because I cannot get past ‘birth her’).

Other ‘outdated’ names I adore include: [name_f]Bunny[/name_f], [name_f]Nanetta[/name_f], [name_f]Sibyl[/name_f] / [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], [name_f]Josepha[/name_f], [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f], [name_f]Dot[/name_f], [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Rita[/name_f], [name_f]Roberta[/name_f], [name_f]Alberta[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Rita[/name_f], [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f], [name_f]Frederica[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f], [name_f]Gloria[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] (can never use [name_f]Mavis[/name_f], it rhymes with my ln), [name_f]Norma[/name_f], [name_f]Helsa[/name_f], [name_f]Claudette[/name_f], [name_f]Anne[/name_f], [name_f]Geraldine[/name_f], [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], [name_f]Bernice[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], [name_f]Thelma[/name_f], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], [name_f]Prudence[/name_f], [name_f]Clemency[/name_f], [name_f]Constance[/name_f], [name_f]Queenie[/name_f], [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] (I read a book with an adorable [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] in it), [name_f]Franca[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Pauline[/name_f], [name_f]Moira[/name_f], [name_f]Philomena[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Delpha[/name_f], [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_f]Edwina[/name_f], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], [name_f]Alma[/name_f], [name_f]Yvette[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Jeanette[/name_f], [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], [name_f]Wendy[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Benedetta[/name_f], [name_f]Benilde[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ignatia[/name_f], [name_f]Calvine[/name_f], [name_f]Emanuela[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_f]Lucasta[/name_f], [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f], [name_f]Nadine[/name_f], [name_f]Verena[/name_f], [name_f]Maura[/name_f], [name_f]Maxine[/name_f], [name_f]Martine[/name_f], [name_f]Marta[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u] / [name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_f]Margery[/name_f], [name_u]Gerry[/name_u], [name_f]Magdalene[/name_f] / [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Susie[/name_f], [name_f]Suzette[/name_f], [name_f]Dolly[/name_f], [name_f]Lolly[/name_f], [name_f]Paulette[/name_f], [name_f]Annette[/name_f], [name_f]Janis[/name_f].

I could keep going, but I think I will stop there.

[name_f]Doris[/name_f], [name_f]Ida[/name_f], and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] are my top picks! [name_f]Edna[/name_f] and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] are pretty good too. I don’t tend to like names that begin w/ M or B, so that leaves the rest of the list out for me. I also like [name_f]Paula[/name_f] and [name_f]Pauline[/name_f], Vayda, [name_f]Helen[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] (out by US popularity), and [name_f]Patricia[/name_f].

Impossible to pick a favorite; I love them all :).

I have two favorites from your list, [name_f]Ida[/name_f] and [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]. I ended up voting for [name_f]Ida[/name_f] though.

I voted for [name_f]Mildred[/name_f]. I don’t know where its charm comes from for me, but I love it. [name_f]Irene[/name_f] was a close second.

I bet [name_f]Ida[/name_f] and [name_f]Maude[/name_f] will be really popular soon.

[name_f]Mildred[/name_f]-I don’t know why, but I love it! If [name_f]Olga[/name_f] had been here, I would have chosen her. [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] is adorable, but the spelling puts me of a little. Great list!

I love love [name_f]Betty[/name_f]! [name_f]Ida[/name_f] is quite common in my country, I have a friend my age with this name. The other ones are not my cup of tea, especcially not [name_f]Bertha[/name_f] and [name_f]Mildred[/name_f]

[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is my favorite . I have it on my list with the nn [name_m]Gatsby[/name_m] . I love it .
Second choice is [name_f]Maude[/name_f] .

This style is one I really just cannot warm to much at all, however, I must say that the more I hear the style on modern people, the more I feel that they really aren’t so bad. I tend to be all about associations when it comes to such heavy/dated names as these…[name_f]Esther[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f] being a couple names I’ve greatly warmed to due to associations (Esther Anderson & Margot Robbie).

Therefore, it was [name_f]Maude[/name_f] that got my vote in this poll, solely because it’s the only one I’ve heard on a young(er) person these days that somehow just works (Maude Garrett).

*oh and yes, they all be Australian-esque associations…fancy that, huh?

I picked [name_f]Ida[/name_f]. Mostly as I’m used to using the name as there’s an [name_f]Ida[/name_f] in my book.

[name_m]How[/name_m] could I choose? I finally went with [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]–the Aggies are some of my favorite names–but I only dislike [name_f]Irene[/name_f]!

[name_f]Ida[/name_f] is my favorite. [name_f]My[/name_f] second choice would be [name_f]Irene[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I both love [name_f]Doris[/name_f]. We might use it, but it sounds a bit strange with our son’s name.

I like [name_f]Ida[/name_f] and [name_f]Betty[/name_f]!

I quite like [name_f]Ida[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], and I’m really warming to [name_f]Mildred[/name_f] (my vote), which was my great grandmother’s name, and one of the few family names that is my style. [name_f]Bertha[/name_f] seems a lot easier to imagine on an actual person, now I’ve met one my age, and whilst I kind of want to like [name_f]Irene[/name_f] (is [name_f]Irene[/name_f] [name_m]Adler[/name_m] a good or bad association?) that -een ending is something I just can’t stand. [name_f]Maude[/name_f]/[name_f]Maud[/name_f] and [name_f]Edna[/name_f] immediately make me think Simpsons which is great (except they both die :/), but I’m not a huge fan of the sound. Moaning [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f] may also forever be my image of [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f].:frowning: Other ‘out-dated’ names I like:
[name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f], [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f], [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], and [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Phyllis[/name_f]. I may be starting to crush on [name_f]Roberta[/name_f] and [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] too.

I love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f]

[name_f]Doris[/name_f] is lovely, isnt it? it’s my favourite of these as well, and, for what it’s worth, I think it sounds great with your son’s name, but I love your other choices too
