[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite “out dated” names are [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_u]Marion[/name_u], [name_f]Bette[/name_f] (the one syllable pronunciation) and I hate to admit it, but [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is slowly growing on me.
I like them all, even [name_f]Bertha[/name_f]!
[name_f]Betty[/name_f] is my least favorite, though it does remind me pleasantly of [name_f]Betty[/name_f] Crocker baked goods. I prefer [name_f]Bess[/name_f] or [name_f]Bessie[/name_f] or [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] or [name_f]Libby[/name_f].
I too find these names beautiful and strong and charming. I also love [name_f]Martha[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Hortense[/name_f], [name_f]Gertrude[/name_f],[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Norma[/name_f], [name_f]Patricia[/name_f], [name_f]Thelma[/name_f], [name_f]Helma[/name_f], and many others.
Hard to choose!
I quite like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], [name_f]Betty[/name_f] (though I like [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] even more!), and [name_f]Irene[/name_f]. Today, I voted for [name_f]Betty[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and I don’t have any bad associations with it and I don’t even think that it is so outdated that it’ll always be out. I think [name_f]Irene[/name_f] is really fresh, spunky, pretty, and underrated. It is by far my favorite on this list.
I do have old lady associations with most of of the other names you listed.
[name_f]Agatha[/name_f] for me, too! The others are still too out-dated for me, but I like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] a lot (I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] even more, but [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] is pretty cool, too, and probably even less outdated than [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. :)).
I like [name_f]Maude[/name_f] the best from your list. I just like the sound and look of it. I also like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] from your list. I would’ve voted for [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] if it was an option. I also like [name_f]Helen[/name_f] which is kind of outdated in the USA.
I love [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and despise [name_f]Ida[/name_f].
