[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] vs. [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Gregory[/name]
[name]Gregory[/name] is the Hubby’s name but not sure about the triple “g” sounds. [name]Alexander[/name] has no connection I’ve just had a love affair with this name since I was a child. Does every name have to have that deep rooted connection? Or can you pick something because you like the sound/feel of the name? Thoughts?
I like both combos, [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] because it has the flow, and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] because it has the conection. I think honouring trumps the fluidity of a combo every time and to be honest will you be calling him by both names on a regular basis? On the other hand if the repeating G sound is too much for you, you could save [name]Gregory[/name] for a future son if you plan on having more children? Personally I struggle to find names that have a “deep rooted connection” because I dislike most of my family names, so for the most part I go for names that I just genuinely love.
I prefer [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. It flows better, and I happen to love the name [name]Alexander[/name] more so than [name]Gregory[/name].
By the sound I like [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], but I have a soft spot for honoring family in naming, so I think in that light [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] is very nice. What is your husband’s middle name? Would it go well with [name]Hugo[/name]? I definitely think you can pick a name just because you love it and it sounds great. My mom and siblings did that, however I love having family meaning behind names. I think it just depends on what is important to you and what you love.
[name]Hugo[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] does have a lot of G, but I agree with the comments above about the importance of honoring. What about [name]Hugo[/name] [name]George[/name] as a little softer sound?
I agree that [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] is a lot of “G”–and [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is really handsome! I don’t know if you’re open to two MNs, but I think [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] would solve your dilemma. Or what about your husband’s MN? Is that a viable option?
I like [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] best, partly for flow but mostly because I just like the name [name]Alexander[/name]. [name]Hugo[/name] is a great name too -I love it’s meaning & it’s sound. [name]Gregory[/name] is a great name too though. I think it would be good if you could save it for a 2nd son.
Hubby’s middle name is [name]Wayne[/name] and I definitely don’t want my baby to be a murderer so that’s out. I’m fine with two middle names but [name]Hugo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Gregory[/name] is kind of a lot of syllables to me. I may look into some other family names for more options. Thanks for all the comments!
