ALSO [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. So many first/middle Graces and Charlottes for firsts around here!
“So overused I’m annoyed by them”
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] / [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] (or anything that shortens to them)
[name_f]Bella[/name_f] and its longer variants
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] as the middle
Overused but still like them
None actually?
Popular but not overused
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] / [name_u]Kaya[/name_u]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]May[/name_f] / [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
Normal
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
The only ones on this list that are kind of in the "so overused that they kind of annoy me) lol thing are [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]. I hear those names all the time. I also hear [name_f]Ava[/name_f] a lot, but you don’t have that on your list - I just needed to vent a bit because it’s starting to drive me crazy even though it’s a nice name haha.
I don’t have a good grasp of whats actually popular in my area irl but from what I’ve seen on forums the two that are so overused I’m annoyed by them are [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle.
I’d say [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] / [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Bella[/name_f], [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] are bordering on “getting tired of them.” [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is somewhat popular, but not excessively, and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] is pretty popular, but not [name_f]Maia[/name_f].
Popularity dulled their shine:
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
Popular but still sparkly:
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] in some lights on some days
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] (technically shining because my niece has this name, before this I didn’t appreciate Chloe)
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] & [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]May[/name_f]
Not popular at all:
Emmy/Emmie (I’ve just known 1)
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] (Mila is very popular)
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] and [name_u]Kaya[/name_u]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] - slightly overused
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - normal
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - overused in my generation, normal amongst kids, I still like it
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f] - overused but I still like it
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - overused and I’m a bit over it
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - overused but I like it
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]- underused
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Emmie[/name_f] - underused as a full name
[name_f]Bella[/name_f] - overused and I’m over it
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] - popular
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - popular but i still like it
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] - underused
[name_u]Kaya[/name_u] and [name_f]Kaia[/name_f] - normal (though I know several teen Kaias)
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] - normal, but nearing popular
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] - overused but I like it
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f] - unpopular
[name_f]May[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] are popular middles, but I don’t dislike them
So overused they annoy me…
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
Overused but I still like them
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f] (Maya)
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]
Normal
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
Kaia/Kaya
[name_u]Unique[/name_u]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is only unique here in [name_u]England[/name_u] though. I haven’t met anyone here named [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] like ever.
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f], [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f] – just bc it reminds me of other popular variants, [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_u]Alexis[/name_u], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_u]Lexie[/name_u] etc.
“overused but still like them”
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] – but I wouldn’t shorten it! I feel like the nn’s are more overused.
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
slightly amending the groups because it’s not so much that these names are popular in my area (where I live currently) but I’ve met so many throughout my life, or so many with names similar, or I just dislike the name so one was enough
“over it, can’t excite me”
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] (as a middle)
[name_f]May[/name_f] (as a middle)
“her sister ruined it for her” (maybe not over these names themselves but similar names have dulled them)
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f] (actually never met one but knew tons of girls named [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] growing up)
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f] / [name_f]Emmie[/name_f]
“one was enough” (maybe not overused but I don’t like the name so I’m good not meeting more)
[name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
“popular but still like”
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Bella[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
“never actually met one”
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaia[/name_f] / [name_u]Kaya[/name_u]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] (as a middle)
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
So overused they don’t excite me
[name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmy[/name_f]
I am much less fussed about popularity than the average berry, but I would not say any of them are sickeningly overused. [name_m]Even[/name_m] really popular ones like Isabella… I really don’t know multiples in the same age group. There’s an [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] I work with, and I know a teenager with this name… but that’s it? I don’t see a ton of kids in my sphere but the ones I do know in general have more unusual names. (Which I guess is convenient for me, ha!) But even when I’m out and about and hear names in passing, they’re not really these names?
I would happily, happily use [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] (EVA), [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Kaia[/name_f], and [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]. Huge fan of all of those. The others don’t wow me (although I do love [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] and like [name_f]Maya[/name_f] a lot). I would especially use [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f], although they’re so special to me I’d use them even if there were lots of Lilys and Evas where I am.
