I’m trying to pick a name for a girl and are stuck between these three.
Saroian (Sa-roy-anne)
[name]Kaia[/name] ([name]Ky[/name]-uh)
[name]Romina[/name] ([name]Ro[/name]-mee-na)
I like Saroian because I love the spelling, it sounds exotic and cool, kind of spunky too – along with being classy. I’m just afraid that people won’t be able to pronounce it or spell it right. I like [name]Kaia[/name] because it sounds beachy, exotic, and sporty…it’s short and sweet. I don’t like the spelling and the way it looks on paper. Also, even though the name is pretty unique, I know alot of girls with this name so that’s a downside too. I like [name]Romina[/name] because of all the nicknames ([name]Ro[/name], [name]Rome[/name], [name]Romy[/name], [name]Mina[/name]), and it sounds mysterious, elegant and edgy at the same time. Also, it sounds like it would belong to a really beautiful, romantic girl. My only dislike is that it sounds a little dated sometimes.
Which one is your favorite and why? Thank you x
I like [name]Romina[/name] the best.
I love [name]Kaia[/name] the best. It’s really adorable sounding. My least favourite Saroian. Not only does it not sound pretty to me, but I think a lot of people would have pronunciation/spelling problems with the name.
My favorite is [name]Romina[/name], because the spelling and pronunciation are intuitive.
Could [name]Kaya[/name] not be pronounced [name]KY[/name]-uh? [name]Maya[/name] is MY-uh, so it stands to reason that [name]Kaya[/name] could get you the sound you’re looking for without the spelling you dislike, right?
Saroian is a pretty sound, but it definitely looks like an exotic foreign language name that many people will be afraid to try pronouncing.
I also like [name]Romina[/name].
[name]Romina[/name] is my favorite.
[name]Kaia[/name] is my favorite. I love it because it’s a form of [name]Catherine[/name], as is my mom’s name. I already loved it, and the others didn’t really speak to me, I guess.
If you don’t like [name]Kaia[/name], you could maybe use [name]Caia[/name] or [name]Kaya[/name]?
Saroian intrigues me, but in the end, it just sounds too much like [name]Camille[/name] [name]Saroyan[/name] from Bones.
[name]Romina[/name] is my favorite of those names.
[name]Romina[/name] is my favorite
I definitely like [name]Kaia[/name]! It sounds so sweet and although there may be some other [name]Kaia[/name]'s in her future classes and such she could go by a nickname such as [name]Ky[/name] and [name]Kay[/name].
As for the spelling issue you could always go with something unique such as:
[name]Kyah[/name]
[name]Kaya[/name]
[name]Kiya[/name]
Kiyah
[name]Caia[/name]
Cyah
Caya
Ciya
Ciyah
Or something REALLY unique:
Kyuh
Cyuh
[name]Ky[/name]'ah
[name]Cy[/name]'ah
[name]Kaia[/name] is my favorite by far, I think it is familiar enough for people to pronounce correctly yet rare enough that she should be the only [name]Kaia[/name] in her class.
My dog’s name is “[name]Ky[/name]-uh”, spelled [name]Kaija[/name]. It’s been mispronounced “ka-EE-juh” and “Cage-uh” though so I don’t recommend it, but it’s a pretty name and I like NN [name]Kai[/name].
Saroian makes me think you’re a massive Bones fan no judgement, I am too! [name]Saroyan[/name] is also the name of a finger cymbal company for bellydancers, I’ve owned several pairs. Maybe you’d like [name]Soraya[/name]? Pron. like [name]Mariah[/name] with an S.
[name]Romina[/name] is nice too, I like [name]Ramona[/name] or [name]Romilly[/name] / Romilla better. It makes me think of [name]Marlena[/name], which is also nice.
Of these names [name]Romina[/name] is my favorite.
None of those really speak to me, but there are similar names that come to mind.
Similars to:
Saroian = [name]Saoirse[/name], seen more often, but not common in the US.
[name]Kaia[/name] = [name]Kiera[/name]/n, looks better on paper and gives off playfulness
[name]Romina[/name] = [name]Rowena[/name], still gives you the nickname [name]Ro[/name] with a romantic feel

I like the suggestion of Saroya, which gives me the same feel as [name]Kaia[/name]!
My vote is for [name]Kaia[/name] - it’s on my short list right now! When I hear [name]Romina[/name], I think romaine lettuce.
Good luck!
I like Saroian the best! Very cool! [name]Kaia[/name] is just so-so, and really dislike [name]Romina[/name].
[name]Kaia[/name] is lovely!
I think Saroian looks pretty, but agree that it’s pronunciation is probably not intuitive. [name]Saoirse[/name], [name]Soraya[/name], or Saren/Sarene are my suggestions.
I like [name]Kaia[/name]. What about Aia, [name]Alia[/name], [name]Kiana[/name], or [name]Kei[/name]?
I love [name]Romina[/name], but mainly because I’ve really been liking [name]Ramona[/name] lately. I think it works since there has been a mysterious love affair with [name]Wilhelmina[/name] recently.
