I like [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] and [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] as first names. The others I personally would use only in the middle.
I love [name_m]Monty[/name_m]/[name_m]Monte[/name_m] as a short form.
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] and [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] are really the only wearable firsts for me.
[name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is one of my favorite names. I also really like [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] and [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]. I think all are wonderful first names. Your other names aren’t my style but I’m not sure I’d necessarily say they’re too obscure for a first name.
Of these, I think [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] is the only one which really works as a first name. I really love [name_m]Odysseus[/name_m], but would use it as a middle.
As a whole, these names aren’t obscure, as they’re quite clearly classical/literary names. I’m inspired by literature too (English teacher here!) but I would think hard about actually saddling a child with a name with such a heavy legacy.
I love [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] and [name_m]Endymion[/name_m], but would probably (personally) only use them in the middle. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] is pretty cool too.
The only two I find “too much” for a first name are [name_m]Ulysses[/name_m] and [name_m]Odysseus[/name_m]. It’s not just the sound, it’s more the weight/ubiquity of the legends behind them. But both would be fine in the middle slot.
I love [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] nn [name_m]Monty[/name_m] and [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] nn [name_m]Tad[/name_m]
I love [name_m]Montgomery[/name_m] [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] as a combination and both as first names as well.
