Which Rose Name? Help!

Ok, after weeks of obsessing-I think we’ve decided on using “[name]Rose[/name]” for our second daughter’s name. I like the name [name]Rose[/name] and especially the nn. “[name]Rosie[/name]”

  • I’ve ruled out “Roselei”-b/c of Twilight. (someone told me that was the heroine’s name?

  • I like Rosamaria (too singsongy?)

  • I don’t like Rosabella-Too many ‘bella’ names where we live. ([name]Atlanta[/name], [name]Georgia[/name])

  • I like Annarosa?

Oh, my name is [name]Christina[/name], husband’s is [name]Kyle[/name] and our daughter’s name is [name]Catherine[/name] Annalis (nn [name]Cate[/name])

Help! [name]TIA[/name]

Oh, I really like the middle name “[name]Willow[/name].” Our last name is [name]Wade[/name].

I like the Spanish name Anarosa. Not sure it would work with [name]Willow[/name] [name]Wade[/name] as middle and last however.

Anarosa [name]Clea[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Cleo[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Vivian[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Evelyn[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Claire[/name]/[name]Clare[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Mei[/name]/ [name]Mae[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Blaire[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Brooke[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Cora[/name] [name]Wade[/name]
Anarosa [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Wade[/name]

Many names can be shortened to [name]Rosie[/name]

I think that [name]Catherine[/name] and [name]Rosalind[/name] sound very nice together, but that has more of a [name]ROZ[/name] sound, so I would choose my favorite [name]Rose[/name] name, [name]Rosaleen[/name]. I am not a huge fan of [name]Rosemary[/name].

[name]Rosaelia[/name] ([name]Ro[/name]-zay-[name]LEE[/name]-uh)

With sister [name]Catherine[/name] I vote for, in order:
[name]Rosemary[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Rosalia[/name] [name]Willow[/name]

[name]Cate[/name] and [name]Rosie[/name] are adorable sisters!

I second Roseaelia or how about [name]Anna[/name] [name]Rose[/name] .I know a thirteen year old with this name and she is really beautiful.

[name]Rose[/name], just simple, elegant [name]Rose[/name], is one of my favorite first names in the world! Yes, [name]Rosalie[/name] is a Twilight name (I’ve not read the books, though), but I still think it’s beautiful, too.

I also love:

[name]Rosabelle[/name]/Rosabel (less frilly than Rosabella, especially with Rosabel)

I think that your Rosamaria and Annarosa are very pretty, but with the classic [name]Catherine[/name], I guess I can better see [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosaline[/name], Rosabel, or [name]Rosemary[/name].

[name]Just[/name] for fun:

[name]Rose[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Marielle[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]

Best wishes to you!

I am really digging Annarosa. I know we’d call her ‘rosey’ at home and then maybe [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Anna[/name] at school-in public.

I am having second thoughts about [name]Willow[/name]…

I like Primose-but there are $$$ private schools in [name]Atlanta[/name] called “Primose Schools” and I wonder if it’s too PRIM and proper? KWIM?

My husband likes [name]Rosalind[/name]-isn’t that from [name]Shakespeare[/name]?-I too am not fond of [name]Rosemary[/name]. I do like [name]Rosemarie[/name] though.

I like the idea of [name]Cate[/name] and [name]Rosey[/name] together too-I forgot to mention that my husband and daughter look very Scottish-ruddy red hair and red rosy cheeks and sky blue eyes. So, I think [name]Rosey[/name] will be especially cute if she is 'rosey." Though, I have olive skin so who knows.

Whoops! I didn’t realize that your last name is [name]Wade[/name]. (I apologize for not reading the posts carefully.) In that case, I’d personally go with a longer version of [name]Rose[/name]. I love so many of the [name]Rose[/name] names!

Good luck!

Thanks so much for all the help!!! So many good ideas. What do you guys think of…

Are there too many ‘bellas’ out there? We’d still call her [name]Rosey[/name] or [name]Rose[/name].

I think it’s very pretty, but like you said, there are a lot of Bellas out there, a lot of them nicknamed [name]Bella[/name] for [name]Isabella[/name] (#2 in popularity). That said, you’ll be calling her [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Rosey[/name], which I think is so refreshing to hear. (I love [name]Rose[/name] names!)

I bet a little girl would love to be named Bellarosa, but part of me wonders if Bellarosa is too frilly next to the more traditional [name]Catherine[/name] (which I love, by the way).

[name]Do[/name] you like Rosabel/[name]Rosabelle[/name], or are you looking for a [name]Bella[/name] name?

I can’t recall, but has [name]Rosalba[/name] already been suggested?

Best wishes to you!

[name]Rosalie[/name] isn’t the main character in Twilight. I don’t think that has ruined the name, but I could be wrong. It is still my favorite [name]Rose[/name] variation, and I don’t even like the books. I also really like [name]Rosemary[/name] and [name]Rose[/name], and to a lesser extent [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosario[/name], [name]Rosalia[/name], and [name]Rosetta[/name]. None of the other variations really stand out to me.

What about [name]Rosa[/name] (my name)? I also like [name]Rose[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], and [name]Rosalie[/name].

I think I would go with [name]Rose[/name]. Why make it more complicated?
