Your poll only allows one choice. I chose [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and my girls pick would have been [name_u]Seren[/name_u]. I prefer [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_m]Shepard[/name_m] in the middle spot and since they follow the trend of occupational names/surnames they don’t interest me as much as [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]. This name is a rare Biblical choice so I would wonder if there was a story behind it. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is the most unusual option for the girls. Most people are familiar with [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] and even [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] but not many non-name nerds would know about the Welsh gem of [name_u]Seren[/name_u] which means “star”. I would be curious to know why the parents chose this name for their daughter.
I’d be most likely to ask about [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f]. [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] because it’s an extremely underused Biblical name (maybe the lack of good nn?) that I happen to love. I’d ask about [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] because it feels so familiar yet you never hear it. It feels so peppy yet traditional.
I voted [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], but my girl’s choice would have been [name_u]Seren[/name_u].
[name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], and [name_f]Philippa[/name_f] seem more like they’re following the current trends, so [name_u]Seren[/name_u] stands out as uniquely intriguing.
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] would have been my runner-up for a boy, as the name is so unusual. But [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] interests me more. I would want to know if it was after [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] Book from Firefly.
Had I known I was ever going to have kids, I wouldn’t have given the name to my beloved cat! Best part about [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are all the random nicknames you can use, which are more of fun names for a little girl rather than a nn that should stick. [name_u]Clem[/name_u], [name_u]Clemmy[/name_u], [name_f]Clementina[/name_f], Clemen-teeny, etc. I just think it’s a really fun name.
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] for a girl and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] for a boy. I’d like to know the story behind [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] too though.
I absolutely adore [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] too!! I used to not like it, but then it’s just been growing on me more and more. I love that it is derived from a name that means “mercy” and my favorite nicknames for it are [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]!
I chose [name_u]Seren[/name_u] for a girl and I would have chosen [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] for a boy. I have never met a [name_u]Seren[/name_u] before, but I like it, and it feels like it could get more popular. [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is one of my favorites, it would be in my top two if he were to have a different surname
