I chose [name_f]Callista[/name_f], because the nickname [name_f]Callie[/name_f] seems to come more naturally from it.
However, [name_f]Calista[/name_f] looks nice too and has the advantage of avoiding a double “ll” which is pronounced as “ee” in Spanish (obviously not a concern to everyone, but would be a factor for me). And come to think of it [name_u]Cali[/name_u] could be a cute nickn
Interesting input! I didn’t know that in Spanish it is pronounced as “ee”.
I prefer [name_f]Callista[/name_f], but I might choose [name_f]Calista[/name_f] if I spoke Spanish or lived in heavily Spanish-speaking area.
To get technical, the original form of the name is [name_f]Kallisto[/name_f], Latinised as [name_f]Callisto[/name_f], so if it matters to you then [name_f]Callista[/name_f] is closest to the original form of the name.
If the Spanish technicalities interest you, here’s a bit of trivia. Double L in Spanish is usually equated to English pronunciation of Y in yen, young, yonder. But there are some dialects in across the Americas where it may be pronounced like sh, ch or zh, for example the local pronunciation of Medellìn.
That’s a good point! I definitely love the Greek mythology history behind it, so it makes sense to go with the double L.

I personally prefer [name_f]Calista[/name_f]. It’s more aesthetically pleasing to me.
[name_f]Callista[/name_f] looks nicer to me.
I prefer [name_f]Calista[/name_f]. It looks more nicer/neater.
I have [name_f]Calista[/name_f] in my list, but that’s due to wanting to have siblings with the same number of letters. I like that [name_f]Callista[/name_f] is closer to the original, but I think I’m still going to go for [name_f]Calista[/name_f]. Something about it looks feistier and tougher, which I really like in a name.
I prefer [name_f]Calista[/name_f]. I usually prefer single L’s to two (ie. [name_f]Gabriela[/name_f]) as I just find it makes the name look ‘cleaner’.
I voted [name_f]Callista[/name_f], as the two I have met spell it this way.
I voted for [name_f]Callista[/name_f]. [name_f]Calista[/name_f] seems incomplete…
