[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’m writing a fantasy story and I have a character named Elaisiandra. She goes by [name_f]Lacy[/name_f], and will be called [name_f]Lacy[/name_f] in the narration, but I don’t know which spelling is best.

I feel like Laisy and Laisi look like they should be pronounced like “lazy,” which I don’t want, but those spellings stick closer to her actual name, so I’m not sure which to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I would stick with [name_f]Lacy[/name_f]. The other two look more made up, and not as elegant. [name_f]Lacy[/name_f] has a clean, elegant feel.
I immediately would have pronounced Laisi/Laisy with a “z” sound, like the word lazy, unfortunately. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if the “ais” spelling is closer to her full name, I would be afraid that people wouldn’t pronounce the nickname the way you wish them to, unless her full name makes it very clear that it would be pronounced like [name_f]Lacy[/name_f].
