Which spelling?

Which spelling is most intuitive/attractive for pronunciation: Mick - elle

We found out we are expecting a baby girl. We love the nn Mick/Mik for a girl. My grandpa’s name was Michael “Mick” and my dad’s name is Kelly.

Brother is Icem.

I picked Mickell because it is the closest to both family names. However, I really think McKelle works too and falls in line with the McKenzie’s and other Mc’s names.

yes i completely agree with @westem ’s comments. Mickelle fits both names, and McKelle would be my second choice.

Would you consider [name_u]Micah[/name_u] or [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] to honor [name_u]Michael[/name_u]? [name_m]Kellyn[/name_m] for [name_u]Kelly[/name_u]?

I know a Mickelle that uses this spelling

McKelle looks the best to me and would be less likely to be mistaken for [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] (which I did with Mickelle at first).

I think if someone hand wrote Mickelle and they didn’t write their letter K neatly it could look like an H and she would likely get called [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] frequently. I think Mickell without the -e at the end could rhyme with nickel. Mikelle is okay but could get a Michael/My-kel pronunciation. I think McKelle fits exactly the pronunciation you’re looking for, plus I think it’s the cutest spelling, in a fun yet sophisticated, breezy carefree kind of way!

Yes, this is my worry for the Mickelle spelling.

Thank you. I think that is why I don’t like McKelle. I like unique and I feel like it groups it with the Mc names.

I think I have explored as many options as are out there. Not the biggest fan of those Mic names and really like the combination. Thank you for the input!
