Which Three Middle Names for Amelia?

Hello again! I’ve decided on our daughter’s first name (yay)! Her first name will definitely be [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and now the hard(er) part begins. I’ve gone through the really long list of family names for her middle name and have come up with 10 combinations that I really like.

From my 10, which do you think has the best flow to it? She will have three middle names, so please do not try to convince me that it is too many. I know that hardly anyone likes the idea but it is not changing (it is tradition on my husband’s side) so if you have negative opinions on it, please keep those to yourself and just help me pick the best combination.

Thank you all so much, you’re amazing!

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Birgitte[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Maelys[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] [name_f]Demetria[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] Fiana (yes Fiana, not [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] haha)

I’d rather stick to these combinations, however if you think there is an absolutely perfect combination that I haven’t thought of with these names then feel free to suggest it. However, the names must be from these and please do not change any of the spellings!

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are the only ones I find to flow well.

I like the first two combos best, but agree that flow could be improved upon. I think [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] flows best, but is too many stodgy/classic names in one combo (of course, if you don’t mind that, then go for it.) [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is also a gorgeous combo, but [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] feel weird back-to-back like that ([name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]/[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], maybe?)

Other ideas:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] Fiana [name_f]Maelys[/name_f]

Some of your four-name combos are heavy on the “ee” sound (eg. all the names in [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] share this sound) or they’re drowning in the l’s contained in them (eg. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]) so they don’t flow very well. These three combos are my faves. Some of them have repetitive “ee” and l’s but at least they’re spread out a bit.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]

[name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. Boy that’s a lot of names. I would just use one.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]

@geeknamezyo: I see what you mean, however I dislike the sound of double A endings next to each other such as [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. I’m not a fan of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] Fiana [name_f]Maelys[/name_f], sorry! But thank you for the ideas!

@boyandgirl: If you are going to give suggestions, keep them the same length as mine. I have already stated that she will have three middle names. It is not up for debate.

Top Picks in order listed
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] - This is my favorite, I really like the flow of the 2nd middle ending in the a like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] with a variation in syllables
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Birgitte[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Maelys[/name_f] - I really like the 3-2-3-2 flow and the repeat of the a ending on a 3 syllable name
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Helen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] - [name_m]Long[/name_m] short long short flow with an a in the middle

Least Favorites
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] - A lot of L’s and I keep saying [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] even though I know that isn’t what it says, while I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] I feel like melia and mina are a bit to close to one another.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] Fiana - This is really hissy and 3-3-3-3
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] - something is off with this one, not sure what - a lot of L’s
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - flow is off, I’m not liking the 3-2-3-3
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f] - flow is off, I’m not liking the 3-3-3-2
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] - This one just felt like a list of names to me because they are all 3 syllables 3-3-3-3

[name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference:
So I am really liking a high variation in syllables either a 3-4-3-1/2 or the 3-2-3-2 combos with the second middle ending in a. You had a lot of names to work with so I’m sure you’ll find the perfect combination.

I like;

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] [name_f]Giselle[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] Fiana

And for my own combinations:

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Demetria[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Maelys[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Helene[/name_f] (the extra -e- seems to finish this name)

@sarab.cook: Thanks for the reasoning behind your thought process! I hadn’t thought about the syllables in each name!

@noetje: Thanks for the suggestions however none of them do it for me, sorry! I really don’t like double A endings next to each other. Also please do not change the spellings.

And I’m sorry for trying to help. Won’t try again.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f] is absolutly stunning ! [name_u]Love[/name_u] .

Second choice : [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] Whilelima [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] .

@kir - With 3 middle names I think taking syllables into consideration will make your job so much easier. If you can figure out which syllable flow (or even narrow it down to a couple) you like best then can separate the names by syllables for combos. On top of that I would pull out names ending in a in sub-category to avoid for the 1st middle or to use for the 2nd middle. At that point I would play around with combos avoiding repeating sounds and what not. So now that I sound like a huge geek who yes uses Excel when considering names I will end on saying picking 4 names for one little girl would be an intimidating task so the more you break the steps down the easier it will be. Best of luck!

Have you thought about [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] has another meaning.

@jaw: I don’t like the look or sound of [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], sorry! [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] was one of the two names my husband liked and is the one I prefer so it’s what I’m going with. The meaning of the name isn’t all that important to me

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite combinations:

Though my favourite is amelia diana louise beatrice

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f]. I love the mix of modern classic [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] along with the sleek, regal, mythical [name_f]Diana[/name_f], and unexpected vintage treasures [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] and [name_f]Imogen[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] second choice is [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]. This is gorgeous too.

I’d also love [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f], I like the nice 4-3-3-1 syllable counts together.
