If the choice was between the name you love which doesn’t sound as good with surname or a name you like a lot but sounds better with surname? I’m ruminating and really stuck on what choice to make. With both names when I think of using the other I feel sad we aren’t able to use the other name but they don’t sound good together in a first/middle combo
I say go with what you love! At the end of the day, the child will be most often called by their first name, and flow isn’t necessarily the most important if you are truly in love with the name.

I agree with pp, choose the name you love.
Go with the name you LOVE
Unless the name you love more sounds absolutely terrible with your surname, go for the name you love! Like no, I probably wouldn’t recommend [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Matthews[/name_m] or [name_m]River[/name_m] Waters or [name_m]Dean[/name_m] [name_f]Bean[/name_f], but unless it’s something like that, you’re fine!
