Which variation of this combo ought I use?

[name]Do[/name] you think this is too long of a name: “[name]Lucille[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]” insert last name that start’s with an L and is French. ?

All three of those names have a lot of meaning to me and since this will be my only child I kind of want to get them all in there. But I can’t help but think maybe two middle names is too much, or is it perfect? I had wanted to use [name]Ruth[/name] as a first name to honor my mom [since that is very important to me] but I have a hard time coming up with any name combo that balances out the name and flows well with it as a first, so I’m considering using it as a secondary name instead. I kind of feel bad about relegating the name to a secondary position, but I am considered about the overall flow and sound of the name.

I have always been very fond of the name [name]Lucille[/name], and seeing how it’s French, it goes nicely with the last name; it’s been a favorite name of mine since I was a little kid, I quite like the nickname [name]Lucy[/name]. The alliteration with the last name sounds nice to my ears. I absolutely adore the name [name]Georgia[/name] though, it brings up nothing but good associations when I hear it, basically the name just makes me smile. [name]Georgia[/name] also goes nicely with the last name if I use it as a first. Then there’s the name [name]Ruth[/name], which I really want to use to honor my mom who passed away years ago and whom I loved very much; I think the nickname [name]Ruthie[/name] is very cute. My problem is, I adore all of those names and each of them has personal significance to me.

So I’m not sure if I should name my progeny “[name]Lucille[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]” or just “[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]”? Or should I keep trying to find a middle name I love that’ll allow me to put [name]Ruth[/name] in the first name slot? I had come up with the name [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Peregrine[/name], but I’m not sure if that’d be too eccentric or not.

Also, I’d like to know what your first impression would be with each of those names on a little girl? For example, what would you picture a girl with the name [name]Lucille[/name] to be like vs a little [name]Georgia[/name] or [name]Ruth[/name]?

There are a few possible solutions.

First, you can stick to [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], but the 2-2-1 syllable pattern isn’t the best.

Second, you can knock off the “[name]Georgia[/name]” part (I’ve never thought [name]Georgia[/name] was a pretty name myself) and just use [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], which sounds even better in my opinion, but that’s just me.

Third, you can keep all three names and just rearrange them. I think the name sounds even better as [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lucille[/name], with the 2-1-2 syllable pattern. Or, once again, you could get rid of the [name]Georgia[/name] part and just use [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lucille[/name].

As for what I picture…
[name]Lucille[/name]- I automatically think of I [name]Love[/name] [name]Lucy[/name], funny, clever and red-haired.
[name]Georgia[/name]- This name makes me think of a bossy, rude girl. [name]Don[/name]'t know why.
[name]Ruth[/name]- I picture a quiet, sweet girl who loves to read. This is my favorite of the three names, by far.

Personally, I vote for either [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] or [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lucille[/name].

Actually I quite like [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] also sounds good.

I say do it if it’s what you love and makes you happy, but I see your difficulty. I quite like both [name]Georgia[/name] and [name]Ruth[/name], and don’t particularly dislike [name]Lucille[/name], though I prefer just [name]Lucy[/name]. I have to agree with pp that it isn’t the greatest in terms of flow… and I’m not particularly fond of two names with the “oo” sound. If I was going to pick from the three, I like [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]. That said, I love [name]Ruth[/name] the most in the first spot, it just doesn’t seem to work well with the other two :frowning: Sorry I’m not more help.

I like [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]

I think [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] Or [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] is best.

I believe you should definitely use all 3. They all mean something to you and if this is your only child - even more reason I say!

Lucillle: Reminds me of I love [name]Lucy[/name]. A happy name.

[name]Ruth[/name]: Somewhat more serious and biblical in my opinion.

[name]Georgia[/name]: Lively and spunky.

Good luck.

I like [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Georgia[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], and I think if you want to get them all in you should go for it!
I like [name]Lucille[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], mostly for the nickname [name]Lucy[/name]-Roo!!!
I do think that [name]Georgia[/name] is a good bridge between [name]Lucille[/name] and [name]Ruth[/name], which are stylistically pretty different.
[name]Lucille[/name] is a free spirit name. Like one of my favorite names, [name]Celia[/name], it contains “seal”. Makes me think of selkies and sunlight on salt water.
[name]Ruth[/name] has a beautiful seriousness. It’s solid and peaceful sounding.
[name]Georgia[/name] is somewhere in between I think. It’s stately and formal yet can also be sassy and casual. [name]Georgia[/name] is the girl climbing trees in her new party dress.
