Which version of this name?

I am absolutely in love with the name [name]Josie[/name]! I know an adorable little girl named [name]Josephine[/name] who goes by [name]Josie[/name] and it fits her so well! Not to mention the name is so cute and rarely used!

I am not sure if, should I ever use this name, I should go with [name]Josephine[/name] and call her [name]Josie[/name], or just go with [name]Josie[/name]?
What do you think?

I have it paired with the MN [name]Renee[/name]. So [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name] or [name]Josie[/name] [name]Renee[/name]?

I have a friend by the name of [name]Josephine[/name] with the nn [name]Josie[/name]. I’m not really a fan of the name [name]Josie[/name] as a stand alone name…I think it’s more of a nn.

I would choose the full name [name]Josephine[/name].

I think [name]Josie[/name] is a perfectly good stand-alone name. [name]Josie[/name] [name]Renee[/name] is a very nice combo.

I agree with mumbear, [name]Josie[/name] is a perfectly fine stand alone name.

I do like some nickname names ([name]Hattie[/name], [name]Molly[/name]) but I think [name]Josie[/name] needs a full name. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name] has a nice flow.

I think either way is fine. Personally, I would go with [name]Josephine[/name] but I always thought [name]Jo[/name] [name]March[/name] was so cool so I think as a little girl, it would be neat to share a name with her. [name]Josie[/name] is a fantastic name/nn!

I think either way is fine. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name] has a slightly better flow to me, because [name]Josie[/name] [name]Renee[/name] is a bit rhymey with the matching -ee endings. [name]Josie[/name] can stand alone perfectly thouhg.

[name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name].

I believe in giving people options with their name so I would go with [name]Josephine[/name] and call her [name]Josie[/name] as a child. She may want to use the full [name]Josephine[/name] professionally or go by [name]Jo[/name],at some point.

I would always choose the full name of a name. That looks always better when she´s older and has to apply somewhere and things like that. You can still call her [name]Josie[/name]. A friend of mine named her daughter [name]Josephine[/name], too and calls her [name]Josie[/name]. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name]

I agree with paw. [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name] is very pretty!

I would advise you to put [name]Josephine[/name] on the birth certificate. [name]Josie[/name] is a cute nickname for a girl but I don’t think it ages well. Parents often forget that childhood is very short and we spend most of our lives as adults. Go with the full name to give your daughter more options as she matures.

Definitely [name]Josephine[/name]. [name]Josie[/name] is far too nicknamey, I can’t imagine it on a professional woman. Plus, [name]Josie[/name] [name]Renee[/name] is a little rhymey.

This exactly! Give her best of both worlds!

Name her what she will be called.

Thanks for all the replies! I’m not currently pregnant but if I were to ever use this name I think I would go with [name]Josephine[/name] and just call her [name]Josie[/name] while she is younger, that way she can go by what she wants once she is older.

[name]Josephine[/name] is miles above [name]Josie[/name] in sophistication. I would definitely go with the full name and use [name]Josie[/name] as a nn during her youth.

I would use [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Renee[/name]. It’s beautiful!!

I normally prefer the longer version of a name.

[name]Josephine[/name] lends the nn.s: [name]Jo[/name], [name]Josey[/name]/[name]Josie[/name], Seph, Sephine, Phin([name]Finn[/name]), Phiney(Finny).

There are more options with [name]Josephine[/name].

I have a friend at school named [name]Josie[/name], just [name]Josie[/name], and it works fine as a full name. Still, I would prefer [name]Josephine[/name] as a full name and calling her [name]Josie[/name].
