Which water name?

The 2 names are [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u]. Both have a lot of meaning to us. We spend our time between the Caribbean and [name_f]England[/name_f] as hubby is Jamaican and we’re still waiting for my Jamaican passport to be processed. As such we cross the Atlantic a LOT! also we live by the ocean in both england and jamaica amd spend as much time on the beach as possible.
[name_f]Jamaica[/name_f] also has a lot of rivers which we go to a lot as well. Floating down a crystal clear river in the lush countryside of [name_f]Jamaica[/name_f] is such a serene feeling. Hubby and son also enjoy fishing in the rivers.
Either name would be a middle name but just cant decide which one.

Personally I prefer [name_u]River[/name_u] I think. Its sound is the most appealing to me and I think, of the two, I’d rather have it as my own name.

Since they both have special meanings to you and they’re both pretty names I don’t think you could go wrong.

I personally like the sound of [name_u]River[/name_u] best, but being named [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] would be really cool. It also seems like the ocean has a little more meaning to you guys!

I love the name [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. I think [name_u]River[/name_u] has become pretty popular lately. I have met a girl called [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] it’s such a pretty name.

I love [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] - it’s stunning

For a middle, I would choose [name_u]Ocean[/name_u], or even [name_f]Oceana[/name_f], which I prefer. Atlantic would also be a cool middle name!

[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is so unique and meaningful- I’d go with that out of the two.

I also love the suggestion of [name_f]Oceana[/name_f], it feels more like a girls name to me. I thought I’d also suggest the name [name_f]Searra[/name_f] as an alternative (as it includes the word sea).

They’re both lovely, but I prefer [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. It has such a beautiful sound. [name_u]River[/name_u] is becoming far more trendy recently.

I know a girl called [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] (who’s 20) and it suits her really well. I always thought it was so cool. [name_u]River[/name_u]'s popularity has skyrocketed, although for good reason, so I’d find it more refreshing to find someone daringly named [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] than [name_u]River[/name_u].

I prefer [name_u]River[/name_u]. It sounds a bit more “name like” than [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. Though, to be fair, that’s not as important if it’s a middle name. [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is a nice middle name. I also really like the name [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]

I would assume that [name_u]River[/name_u] is a boy if I just saw it on a name plate or on paper. Are you pronouncing [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] like oh-say-EN? I think it is very pretty and it gets my vote.

[name_u]River[/name_u] is prettier. I think [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] would be better speller [name_f]Oceane[/name_f], pronounced Oh-see-anne

[name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is so cool. I’d imagine it more as a middle name though. I’d rather do [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] as a middle than [name_u]River[/name_u] as a first.

Both are beautiful, and full of meaning for you. [name_u]Love[/name_u] this idea!

My initial reaction was that I prefer [name_u]River[/name_u] — I love the sound, and prefer the more dynamic imagery of the name. But seeing that this is for a middle and reading the meaning behind the names, I’m actually loving [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] for you. The fact that it’s no much more unusual than [name_u]River[/name_u] makes it really stand out as a “special” name chosen for specific reasons, rather than just a cool, current nature name.

[name_u]River[/name_u], but I’d consider [name_f]Marina[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Oceanna[/name_f], what do you think of this?

While [name_u]River[/name_u] is more established as a name, [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] is totally usable in the middle and seems to hold the most significance. Ultimately I think a big factor will also be the first name you choose.

And if you have any reservations about [name_u]Ocean[/name_u], there’s always [name_f]Oceana[/name_f]/[name_f]Oceania[/name_f], though I totally think you can go with [name_u]Ocean[/name_u].

I prefer [name_u]Ocean[/name_u]. Both are pretty and meaningful to you, so you can’t really go wrong with either, but I kinda favour the story of crossing Atlantic, lol. I have considered Océane myself too before, which makes me probably biased toward [name_u]Ocean[/name_u].

I absolutely love both [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] and [name_u]River[/name_u]! For me, it would depend on the first name.

Both are gorgeous you can’t go wrong!
