Which word has the greatest meaning to you?

and would you use it as a name?

Which word name holds the greatest meaning to you that you would actually use?

Mine:

I love [name_f]Serendipity[/name_f] but wouldn’t be brave enough. I just love the meaning.

I also love [name_f]Hope[/name_f] and would use it.

I always thought [name_f]Kismet[/name_f] would be cool but I’m not brave enough to use it. It would be a fun middle though

Agapē, personally. I would use it, my only caveat being the risk of it being mispronounced as “agape,” and official forms not including accent marks where needed. Other than that I would absolutely use it.

this sounds weird, but Vengeance, it has a personal meaning to me, I’ve been hurt a lot in my life and I won’t lie, I’ve had the wish that the people who hurt me would die painfully.

and if I used the name Vengeance (as a middle name, I wouldn’t be brave enough to use it as a first name), it would remind me that taking Vengeance out on the people who hurt me wouldn’t have been worth it because I wouldn’t have had my little Vengeance.

that was just really rambley, sorry, I also just really love the name and personally I would feel like such a badass to have the middle name Vengeance and I hope my future daughter would have the same feeling.

I love a ton. I think I love words too much to choose only one as having the most meaning for me. I am a linguistics major and creative writing minor at university right now… I love my words!

Some that I think would make meaningful and striking names are…
[name_m]Plenty[/name_m], [name_m]Sonder[/name_m], [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], [name_u]Peace[/name_u], [name_u]Vision[/name_u], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] (bonus points for having meaning as a word and as a linguistic vocabulary term!), [name_f]Heart[/name_f], [name_f]Lively[/name_f], [name_f]Beloved[/name_f], [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], Benevolence, [name_m]Fate[/name_m], [name_m]Goodwill[/name_m], Hymnal, [name_f]Orchid[/name_f], and [name_f]Kismet[/name_f].

There are likely dozens more I think meaningful and grand. I love a dreamy word name!

[name_f]Hope[/name_f], for sure!

TW: a bit of a personal story why

I have recently come out of a very lengthy period of severe depression, which has led to numerous hospital admissions over the past year. after finally figuring out that hormonal imbalances were the root cause of many of the issues, I have been prescribed the pill so that I don’t get periods for the time being (the hormonal imbalance meant that I was experiencing intense suicidal thoughts before and during my period). it hasn’t been long but honestly it has changed my life, I still have days that aren’t great but I am no longer experiencing the same level of despair. I wouldn’t have gotten here without the hope that things would get better. in hospital I was told to write down things to look forward to in the future - one of them was having children. it’s likely I wouldn’t be having children for about 10 years anyway, but I love and work with children and I can’t imagine anything more wonderful than having my own. so a little girl named [name_f]Hope[/name_f] would be very fitting  :two_hearts:

Excluding most nature names, I would go with:

Midnight - As a middle, and I am in love with the idea
Saturn - Particularly for the lyrics: love you to the moon and to saturn
Emerald - With tons of meaning to me, and I might as well use this for a real child
Meridian
Epiphany
Moon - I think I might go for the name of a moon deity rather than this name itself
Wednesday - One of my favourites, with due meaning as well

I love it!

For me it’s [name_u]River[/name_u]. I love the sound of it and the literal nature meaning is a really positive one to me.

I love the sound and meaning of [name_f]Believe[/name_f], [name_u]Blessing[/name_u], [name_u]Bliss[/name_u], [name_u]Dream[/name_u], [name_f]Adore[/name_f], [name_u]Amore[/name_u] and [name_u]Love[/name_u] (Lovelia, Lovellon). Would I actually use them? We’ll see, depends if my children would live in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking country. I’m not big on word names tho.

[name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_u]Valor[/name_u]
[name_f]Honey[/name_f]
[name_u]Wolf[/name_u] (or [name_f]Lovella[/name_f] for a girl)
Leader (but I would use the name [name_f]Lida[/name_f] - subtle difference in pronunciation but the connection there)
[name_u]Justice[/name_u] (boy, middle only and would probably wuss out)
[name_f]Poesy[/name_f]
[name_u]Tempest[/name_u]

Serendipity ‘Pippa’ is inspired

Off the top of my head I’d use Bloom, Halcyon, Orison, Dearheart (inspired by Narnia), Solstice, Poesy, Sonnet, Reverie. I also really really like Bonaventure and Somerled which are a bit wordy.

I love Sidereal ‘of the distant stars’ but Elon Musk used it and now I feel like it’s off limits
