Which works better with my sibset?

[name]Hi[/name]! We finally decided on the name [name]Emmeline[/name]/[name]Emmalyn[/name] for our third child (second girl). Which spelling/pronunciation (line or lyn) sounds best with our sibset? Also, which nn choice works best with sibset as we plan on using one pretty regularly. Last name starts and ends with a D and is two syllables. Middle name will be [name]Patricia[/name] after my aunt who passed away last month. We live in the U.S. and I’m from the south. This feels important to share as I’m worried about people mispronouncing her name on a regular basis. Thanks so much for your insight and suggestions!

Other siblings: [name]Jackson[/name] [name]Cole[/name] (after my grandfather and hubby), [name]Clara[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] (also family name)

[name]Emmalyn[/name] sounds trendy, but [name]Emmeline[/name] is sweet and darling, like [name]Clara[/name]. [name]One[/name] vote fore [name]Emmeline[/name]. For nicknames, [name]Em[/name], [name]Emmy[/name], [name]Mel[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Lina[/name], [name]Millie[/name] (depends on accent/how you say it, and maybe Emsie. My favorite of those would probably be… [name]Emmy[/name] 'cause it’s adorable! Good luck!

I second the pronunciation “line” as being more classic and therefore a better pairing with [name]Clara[/name]. I like [name]Emmy[/name]/[name]Emma[/name] for the nickname.

[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Patricia[/name] sounds better.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Patricia[/name]. [name]Emmelyn[/name] doesn’t feel as pretty, or suit [name]Clara[/name] as well as the other spelling. I pronounce it like line. Some cute nicknames could be [name]Emmy[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Linny[/name], [name]Mae[/name], or [name]Em[/name].
