Adele - The letter D is harsh-sounding in the middle, without much to back it up at the end
Agnes - Eh. It’s biggest asset is its antiquity. The hard G sounds like the word ugly
Anna - Too overused, when you combine all the Hannahs and Savannahs and Rosannas…
Emmeline - will be confused with Emily, if you’re pronouncing it Em-eh-leen
Eve - bland, feels like it was cut off from Eva or Evangeline
Gemma - sounds like it’s trying so hard to update Jenna, but just can’t do it
Julia - ditto Anna, but this is much prettier. I can’t think of any reason to ditch it except its popularity
Margot/Margo - because of your options: too many ways to spell it. (there’s also Margeaux and Margaux) And “o” sounds masculine.
Phoebe - I don’t like the letter b, but it also sounds immature for some reason
Victoria - Vicki. Or Tori.
Now, why you should keep them:
Adele - short enough to not be called Addy, and thus a hidden antique gem
Agnes - well, its antiquity. And Aggie is an adorable nickname
Anna - It’s classic, normal, and feminine without being frilly
Emmeline - It’s normal to the modern ear, but with vintage flair
Eve - simple and versatile
Gemma - unique, somewhat modern, but not flashy
Julia - gorgeous - like Anna, feminine without being frilly
Margot/Margo - more unique than but just as classic as Margaret, and Maggie is cute.
Phoebe - unique but not unheard of and cute
Victoria - vintage and with a lovely, princess flow.
Now, which of these qualities is most important…?
For me, I’d keep Julia most definitely. Second is probably Margo, simply because I’ve been crushing on that lately. I also love Emmeline. But my vote goes for Julia all the way.
[name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] are my favorites from the poll. I don’t particularly care for the others.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] are the ones I’d keep. I’d probably change [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] to [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] though, for some reason I really like the name [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] but it is “old” I think. The rest I don’t particularly care for.
