We got the gender confirmed, our baby is a little girl! Her middle name will be [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u] and third will probably be [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]/Automne. We are still hesitating between two names for her FN.
[name_f]Liv[/name_f]: I pronounce it “leev”. My husband is okay with it, he likes it BUT it’s not his first choice, because he thinks it’s a nickname and not a name (do you agree?). He would have preferred [name_f]Olive[/name_f], but everybody (here in [name_f]France[/name_f]) told us it was a -very- bad idea. I like that the name means life as this is our rainbow baby. I thought she was a Liv at the beginning of my pregnancy (we didn’t even know the gender). It seems fresh and spunky, a little hipster and not too common. We could still use [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Vivi[/name_f] as NN.
Esmée: My husband is okay with it, but once again, it’s not his favorite. I wonder if he said that Esmée is “not a bad name” because he actually likes it, because he is hesitant about [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or because he knows Esmée was my favorite name before we got pregnant. I don’t want him to pick a name he doesn’t love just because I have a hard time naming this baby. That being said, I like Esmée because it’s vintage and I love the sound “ée”. However, I feel like it’s missing something, maybe some vivacity. It seems soft and a little too “princess” compared to [name_f]Liv[/name_f].
I would love a name that’s not super common, and also easy to wear. A name that I can imagine through all seasons. I dream about a little girl in rain boots walking in a colorful forest or helping me while I make cinnamon cookies and pumpkin cakes. I dream about our little girl eating S’mores around our fire pit during summer, and I imagine her playing hide and seek in the yard with her friends. I see a little girl twirling in her dress, and picking flowers in her grandma’s garden during spring. Or a little girl with bright eyes from all the beautiful lights, listening to christmas songs while we cuddle on our cosy couch. I want something that’s somewhat international, vintage/hipster and spunky. A name that people will like, and that they will never get bored to ear. I picture my french-american girl as: athletic, nature lover, traveler, strong, dark skin color, blue eyes and curly brown hair. She could be the sister of [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], [name_u]Everest[/name_u] or [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] in the future.
So… who is she? Is she [name_f]Liv[/name_f] or is she Esmée?
If you had to use two or three names listed above and add another name from your choice to make a sibset, what would you suggest? Give me your most beautiful sibsets with Esmée and/or [name_f]Liv[/name_f]!
