[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everybody, maybe an odd question, but who are your naming inspirations or influences on NB?
I was just wondering if I was the only one that got so much ideas and inspiration for my own list, by seeing the lists or signature of others. I’m not talking about literally copying someone else’s combos, but rather discovering names in other people’s signatures.
Is it just me or does this happen to everyone else? Care to name a few 
?
Lately it’s been @adelina_sophia and @eoxima for me! I love the way @adelina_sophia’s combos feel so simple, down-to-earth, timeless, and yet stunning nonetheless ([name_f]Adelina[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]? [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u]? [name_f]Elysia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? [name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] ([name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]!!!)? [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m]? [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]?). She’s a genius. 
I love how most of her girls names feel like muted pastel colors to me, like mauve and dusty purple and pearlish-white. I get this image of giggling children playing under overcast skies in a remote village somewhere in [name_f]England[/name_f].
And I absolutely love the blend of lush, romantic charm meets unmistakable quirk in @eoxima’s combos. [name_u]Jude[/name_u] [name_u]Emerson[/name_u]? [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f]? [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]? [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]/[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]? [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_u]Bellamy[/name_u]? I swear, I wish I came up with her combos. I think she took a similar journey as me, somehow, because we both started out with [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] (maybe even both [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!), and somehow we ended up with this international-flavor, slightly vintage, slightly modern, quirky, fun, unexpected style.

And ha, yes, I did start off with [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. That exact combo.
To answer OPs question, I don’t think I have a naming taste like any of the other users (that I can recall) so I don’t think I have any NB inspiration as such. I just ask for advice a lot of the time and rely on NB users responses and feedback to help better shape my name lists. [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] (ashthedreamer) always has a lot of well thought out and useful advice that I love to receive because it feeds into my naming obsession as I spend a few hours after pondering on the feedback and expanding my lists!
I don’t find inspiration in any one person, but in the site as a whole. As you can see, my naming style is so very much not like popular opinion, so I more admire as I come across it.
I take inspiration from the community as whole, I think. Sometimes I see a name in a beautiful combination, whether it’s in a thread or a signature, and it’s like I’m seeing it for the first time. I know that sounds corny, but it’s exciting to me to fall in love with a name that I didn’t care about until I saw it in someone’s combo.
I tend to take inspiration while the whole of NB as @southern.maple said some times I’ll see a name in someone else’s combo & it will instantly make me fall in love with it even if it was a name I previously dismissed or wasn’t a fan off.
That said @evelinrose always stands out to me. I love how ‘out there/different’ her combos are yet still feel so ‘normal’ & useable which is very much how I feel my own my taste & style is - well most of the time lol.
Sooo many people, I don’t think I could name them all right now!
My style is pretty unique when it comes to NB, not many other people tend to have names like [name_f]Blossom[/name_f] or [name_f]Pixie[/name_f] in their signatures, so I generally just get inspired when I see a particular name or combination that I love. It could be from anywhere, from a birth announcement, to a signature, to a MN help post. I really don’t think I could single it down to any one or two members though.
Similar to pps, I tend to be inspired by certain combinations and sibsets in other people’s signatures rather than by one or two people in particular.
That being said, there are still a few people that I always especially appreciate input from, those are @lawsonhaley, @adelina_sophia and @ashthedreamer; we all have different styles but I like what they do with their favourites and I feel as though they give their opinion in a way that goes beyond their own liking of the name but rather takes into consideration how the names suits my style and judges/rates it accordingly.

Thank you very much! I enjoy your style find it’s a really good example of keeping combos interesting, stylish and distinctive, yet restrained. They never look overdone or like they’re trying too hard, which I think is so hard to achieve. [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] especially is such a great example
I also love seeing @ashthedreamer’s combos for keeping combos with two middles fresh and balenced- she really has the knack for this. I also love how she mixes in international names really seamlessly
I’m pretty sure everyone on NB inspires me in different ways- my naming style changes allllll the time, mostly because I’m not really planning on naming my children (if I have any) any of the names on my list, instead they’re mostly for characters. So, I tend to love signatures with lots of cool, obscure names as well as the ones with classic or vintage names. Anyway, the point is that I tend to take bits and pieces off of lots of signatures and then combine them in a way that I like, if that makes sense? My inspiration is anything that catches my eye!
There is no way I could name all of the lovely people who inspire me here at Nameberry!
Ashley (ashthedreamer) is my main go-to person because she understands me and she responds with the sweetest, most detailed, and well-thought-out ideas. And her memory is astounding! I have no idea how she remembers such personal details and old combos, it amazes me.
I would say that most of my inspiration comes from the thread “Names on NB that make you go WOW!” I read through that thread almost daily and I love seeing all of the new combos. I get so many fresh ideas just by reading a few posts in that thread. I love that everybody is so positive and uplifting. I don’t post as often as I used to, my favorite names are the same few combos just in a rotation of sorts. [name_f]Every[/name_f] once in a while I get crazy with new combos and post more often but right now, I just read a lot.
I love this community and I’m so glad I found it nearly 7 years ago. (Wow, 7 years!) What a great idea for a thread.
