Who likes the name [name_f]Polina[/name_f]? I think it’s [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] just spelled differently right?
[name_f]Polina[/name_f] sounds like a disease. I am not a fan AT ALL. This is (no offense) probably one of the worst names I’ve ever heard.
I usually don’t mind different spellings, but this spelling is not good. Maybe two Ls? Pollina? I think this one is a no.
[name_f]Polina[/name_f] ([name_u]Po[/name_u]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u]-Nah) & [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] ([name_m]Paul[/name_m]-Ee-Nah) are two different names. [name_f]Polina[/name_f] reminds me of pollen & poles…neither are things I want associated with my child.
[name_f]Polly[/name_f] and [name_f]Paloma[/name_f] are much better alternatives.
@kate_elaine is right, [name_f]Polina[/name_f] and [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] may be slightly different forms of the same name, but the pronunciation is different.
It’s refreshing to hear negative feedback on my name!
Here in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] almost everyone likes it. No offense taken, of course, @dramagrl19.
I like my name, but I’m not crazy about it. I prefer international-sounding names and [name_f]Polina[/name_f] is quite ethnic and, apparently, may just look like a weird spelling to some.
Sorry …I just never heard of it before until I met a Russian neighbor of mine and that’s the name she gave her daughter and when I called her [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] she corrected me . I agree it’s too ethnic
I actually really love [name_f]Polina[/name_f]! It sounds fresh, spunky, playful, and strong at the same time. But I do think you’d have to be Russian/Eastern European, or at least have a connection to that part of the world, for it to work.
