Hey there,
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and we were talking about names. I learned the names of her WHOLE family and I thought it might be interesting to report it here (I got permission!) It’s interesting because you can see both patterns and names that went sort of against the grain, and lots of repeats in middle names. [name]Just[/name] kind of cool, I thought.
The family of origin surname is like [name]Winters[/name].
The original parents are [name]Xavier[/name] [name]Julian[/name] and [name]Yvonne[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Winters[/name].
THEIR children are:
[name]Erika[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Julian[/name] [name]Dane[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] “[name]Poppy[/name]” [name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Nathanial[/name] “[name]Nate[/name]” [name]Reed[/name]
And THEIR children (and spouses)
[name]Erika[/name] --married [name]Bennett[/name] [name]Henry[/name] sounds-like-[name]Heath[/name]. Their last name is now [name]Winters[/name]-[name]Heath[/name]. Their kids are
[name]Leopold[/name] [name]Henry[/name]
[name]Dagny[/name] [name]Delilah[/name]
(I don’t exactly love either of those names but don’t they sound GREAT together?)
[name]Julian[/name] married [name]George[/name] [name]Mattias[/name] sounds-like-Weems (they hyphenated it too, Weems-[name]Winters[/name])
[name]Ruby[/name] [name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Corbin[/name] [name]Mattias[/name]
[name]Poppy[/name] is single by choice and has
[name]Minerva[/name] “[name]Minna[/name]” [name]June[/name] <–I LOVE this, especially since Minerva is after the harry potter character!
ID twins–
Sebastian “Sebi” Dane
Zachariah “Zeke” Reed
and Nate married Olivia Angelique sounds-like-Holland, and THEIR deal was that the kids MNs would all be from Nate’s family but that they’d take Olivia’s surname, as she’s an only child and he clearly is not.
They had TRIPLETS (girls are fraternal but just barely)
Felix Reed
Alexis Dana
Iris Erika
(I like that…a nice ending matchiness but I don’t think it’s overdone).
Anyway. I thought this was pretty interesting, to see how one extended family has done it. My friend told me they’ve tried not to repeat initials and amazingly they’ve succeeded–she says it makes communicating easier.
Do you have families you can share?
