I have posted several times about my struggle to love a girls name. I am due in three weeks and have a boy, [name]Shea[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] and a girl, [name]Scout[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]. For a boy we have settled on [name]Sullivan[/name] [name]James[/name] or [name]Boone[/name] [name]Jameson[/name] (my father was [name]James[/name] and passed last year). I can’t find the girls name that fits. My sister thinks its because my 2 have fairly unique names and a lot of girls choices feel stale to me and its leaving me uncertain.
I would like to honour [name]James[/name] somewhere in the middle name, the"S" thing is not a trend I care about for first names, I like short names or super long ones. Last name is 2 syllables and begins with an “L” and ends with an “n”. Any ideas?
Hmmm… I see [name]Greer[/name] on here quite a bit, which would fit in well with your other two. [name]Shea[/name], [name]Scout[/name] and [name]Greer[/name]. Or [name]Paige[/name]. Or [name]Blair[/name]. [name]Sloane[/name] would fit, too, although you might want to avoid it since it would be another “s” name.
What about something like [name]Quinn[/name] or [name]Reese[/name]? [name]Scout[/name] is kind of hard to follow because it is a different name and not really feminine like most girls names. What about something like [name]Hadley[/name], [name]Marley[/name], [name]Harper[/name], [name]Marlowe[/name], Harlowe, [name]Skye[/name], [name]Mae[/name], [name]Belle[/name], [name]Raine[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Clare[/name]? I really have no idea of your exact style and just threw those out there for you. Good luck!
I appreciate the great help. I guess it’s safe to say that we don’t select overtly feminine names as with [name]Scout[/name], but we do want people to know “girl” when they hear it. Nothing common or popular, avoiding celebrity baby names etc. we aren’t trendy or following fads, but we like unique choices. [name]Hope[/name] this clarifies
Maybe you’d like for first names (I hope I don’t get too out there for you):
[name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Kaia[/name] – ki-ah – [name]Kai[/name] part sounds like eye)
[name]Celestia[/name]
[name]Electra[/name]
[name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Lux[/name]
[name]Olympia[/name]
[name]Arcadia[/name]
[name]Snow[/name]
[name]Dove[/name]
[name]Ember[/name]
[name]Thea[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name] – lie-rah
[name]Juno[/name]
[name]Sparrow[/name]
[name]Andromeda[/name]
[name]Arielle[/name]
[name]Calypso[/name]
[name]Nova[/name]
[name]Fauna[/name]
[name]Viviette[/name]
Maybe these [name]Jam[/name]- names for the middle:
[name]Jamari[/name]
[name]Jamesina[/name]
[name]Jamie[/name]
[name]Jamila[/name]
Jamisha
[name]Jamison[/name]/[name]Jameson[/name] – It’s not my style, but I have known girls named this and it’s a middle.
[name]Bree[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Kennedy[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Wren[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Teal[/name] [name]Jamie[/name]
[name]Rue[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Alexia[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Oriana[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Presley[/name] [name]James[/name]
[name]Adair[/name] [name]James[/name]
i like [name]James[/name] as a middle on its own, but [name]Jamie[/name] sounds better with some.
[name]Love[/name] teal, wren, snow and lux and [name]Skye[/name]. Is using [name]Jameson[/name] for a little girls middle name too much? I love it or ruby which would be my dads birthstone, but husband isn’t keen…thought?
I just saw your last post about wanting a non-girly type name. So I’ll make another list and maybe you’ll like some from each
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Wren[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Rain[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]/[name]Romilly[/name]
[name]Lane[/name]
[name]Dakota[/name] – I’ve met girl [name]Dakota[/name]'s
[name]River[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
As per your last questions: I don’t think using [name]Jameson[/name] on a girl is too much, as I’ve met girl [name]Jameson[/name]'s and the middle name spot is the right spot to use a more masculine name in my opinion. I also love [name]Ruby[/name] though!
I actually quite like [name]Jameson[/name] as a middle.
Some other suggestions for first could be:
[name]Afton[/name]
[name]Perrin[/name]
[name]Poet[/name]
[name]Duffy[/name]
[name]Azure[/name]
[name]Aida[/name]
[name]Brynn/name
[name]Zinnia[/name]
[name]Romy[/name]
[name]Noa[/name]
