Hey everyone! I recently had a friend say she was really starting to like the name [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] for her baby girl. I didn’t like it much at the start but it’s grown on me a bit. What does everyone else think of it?
I prefer the [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] spelling. It still feels slightly middle aged womany along with [name_f]Sharon[/name_f], [name_f]Karen[/name_f], [name_f]Sandra[/name_f], [name_f]Christine[/name_f] etc.
But I like it more than those due to the [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] association.
This is the name of my favorite aunt (although middle-aged, she’s very fun and young at heart) so I always have warm feeling towards it.
She goes by [name_f]Jill[/name_f] exclusively. I don’t like the [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] variation because it makes me think of fish gills.
I think of the X Files . I like it much more than [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]. [name_f]Jill[/name_f] is a nice nn too.
Yes that’s what I thought at the start too. I was afraid it would seem like a older name but I don’t know anymore
I love [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]! [name_f]Jill[/name_f] is a very sweet nickname
Jillian is so cheerful and bright! I actually know a little [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] (her brother is 0w3n, if that would interest you.) Wait… come to think of it, i know a second little [name_f]Jill[/name_f], who I believe has the full name [name_f]Jillian[/name_f]. So, it definitely doesn’t seem dated to me, and I think it sounds like a cute, bubbly little girl.
I really like it, although I prefer the [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] spelling. I like the X-Files/Gillian [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] association.
I don"t like it, personally.
Doesn’t seem too dated to me. I think it’s cute and spunky, and definitely usable. [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] is also a good spelling, I have no strong preference between the two (maybe a slight preference for [name_f]Jillian[/name_f] if anything).
I like its fun and cheerful feel, although prefer [name_f]Gillian[/name_f] spelling.
Jillian is sweet
