In honor of my son’s birthday today I’d like to share how he got his middle name. It’s misspelled, one of my pet peeves in the naming world, but I love it and wouldn’t change it for a thing.
My mother-in-law is a huge [name]Elvis[/name] fan and wanted to name her infant son (my future hubby) after the [name]King[/name]. Father-in-law was very against it, and they both agreed on the more usable [name]Bryce[/name]. But [name]MIL[/name] was adamant on giving baby [name]Bryce[/name] the [name]King[/name]'s middle name, [name]Aron[/name].
Now there is controversy on whether [name]Elvis[/name]'s middle name had 2 As or 1. He was born [name]Elvis[/name] [name]Aron[/name] [name]Presley[/name], a twin to his stillborn brother [name]Jessie[/name] [name]Garon[/name]. He was supposedly given the the one A to match his angel brother’s [name]Garon[/name].
When my [name]MIL[/name] gave [name]Bryce[/name] “[name]Aron[/name]” back in 1979 she had no idea that just a few years before, after his parents had gone, [name]Elvis[/name] had his middle name changed to the biblical and correct way [name]Aaron[/name]. This is how you will see today on his gravestone. [name]MIL[/name] was very disappointed when she found out, but it was already a done deal for baby [name]Bryce[/name].
I love family names and wanted to keep the tradition of naming my son [name]Jack[/name]'s mn after my husband’s. I wasn’t thrilled with [name]Aron[/name] but after I was filled in, loved the quirky history that went with it. It’s a bit youneek, but that’s what you’re gonna get when Grandma names her kids after Rockstars
Interesting story! I’m usually way more lenient on middle names anyways. I feel like middle names are a great way to use the more “unusual” names without the possibility of the kid growing up to hate their name (thought I’m sure it can happen, I’m not the biggest fan of my name and it’s a correctly spelled popular name, lol). I also think middle names are a great way to honor someone without needing to call them by that name. I think your story is nice!
[name]Just[/name] read your siggy… I’m sorry for your loss [name]Hope[/name] today is/was a nice day celebrating him!
I love when names have stories, so this is nice because it has so much meaning!
I also read your sig, thoughts with you all today, I hope your family was able to celebrate [name]Jack[/name] [name]Aron[/name]'s life together.
I love that story, and I think ‘[name]Aron[/name]’ is wonderful when you know the reason behind it. Thank you for sharing.
My heart goes out to you on this day as you remember your angel baby. Thank you for sharing that special story.
