I’ve noticed over the past couple weeks that the name [name_f]Florence[/name_f] has been SO popular! [name_m]Don[/name_m]’t get me wrong, the name is beautiful, but why is it climbing charts? [name_f]Florence[/name_f] is becoming the new [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. Actress [name_f]Candice[/name_f] [name_m]King[/name_m] (played [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] from The Vampire Diaries) named her daughter [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] [name_m]King[/name_m]…
Why do you like the name [name_f]Florence[/name_f]? What are some good sibling names? What are some good middle names?
I don’t know whether you’re referring to Nameberry specifically, but I think once a name gets a little bit of traction here–which can happen quite randomly/coincidentally if 2-3 people happen to be thinking about it–that can snowball fairly quickly! [name_f]Florence[/name_f] also has a lot of popular/likeable qualities–vintage-y, floral-sounding, unusual but very recognizable, nice meaning, lovely place association, etc.! It’s not one of my own very favorites, but I really really like it and can definitely see the appeal. And I can definitely love it in the right sibset!
I think what’s stopping its popularity in the states is the nickname ‘[name_f]Flo[/name_f].’ But I would like to meet more Florences, it’s a sweet name (and our cat’s name!).
I know a baby [name_f]Florence[/name_f]! It suits her perfectly.
I think the reason it seems to be getting noticed more is because it’s pretty, vintage, floral, and has [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_u]Nightingale[/name_u] associations, not to mention being a town in [name_f]Italy[/name_f].
I adore [name_f]Florence[/name_f] but it’s so popular here in the UK. I think it’s understated grandeur and vintage feel gives me the same vibes as the ever popular [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. It’s strong but feminine.
