I would love to hear the reasons behind your favourite, or the good points you like from it.
Harvest-Rose is one that I have fallen in love with in the last few days. I love the way it sounds and looks. It seems so beautiful to me. It would definitely go with a brother named [name_m]Forrest[/name_m] for sure! I just love this name. Iām a sucker for double barrel names and I make them often because they look so good to me.
Another name I fell for is [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_m]Soren[/name_m]. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is just so easy to roll off the tongue and itās so gorgeously handsome. Then [name_m]Soren[/name_m], Iām drawn to because I am partly Scandinavian and [name_m]Soren[/name_m] is super Norwegian and [name_m]Danish[/name_m].
One of my all time favorite names is the boy name [name_m]Albert[/name_m]. Why? Because my grandfather was my best friend growing up and he was my favorite person but then he passed on when I was just starting teen hood and I adore his name. [name_m]Albert[/name_m] [name_u]Stanley[/name_u] was his full and it was a name that was SO him. So, I decided to honor him with my new name, [name_m]Alastair[/name_m] [name_m]Albert[/name_m].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is also one of my favorites for the same reasons as [name_m]Albert[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] [name_f]Baba[/name_f] named [name_f]Anna[/name_f] was also my best friend. She was my last living grandparent and I adored her. She was so sweet and generous and kind. She was the person Iād go to after school to hang out with. This was also after my grandpa, [name_m]Albert[/name_m], passed away. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] also always used to give me money for candy or something. So [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_m]Albert[/name_m] have super sentimental value behind them.
Fun!
So my favourite girl names are [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] + [name_u]Rose[/name_u]. I love them so much they make my heart sing.
[name_f]Lilia[/name_f] I love as sheās my daughterās name so of course I associate the name with her. I also love [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] because sheās so bright, feminine, has lovely connotations with lilies and springtime. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] for me is the epitome of spring! I also feel that [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] evokes imagery of gorgeous European countryside, bright blue lakes, castles, tulips, ball gowns and lace. [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] pays homage to my mother who is Ashkenazi Jewish as [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] originates from [name_f]Russia[/name_f] (like her father did) and is used across Eastern Europe including Poland (where her mother was from) and is used in [name_u]Israel[/name_u] the birthplace of my mum. I also like that [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] is very international as sheās a name used in [name_u]North[/name_u] [name_f]Africa[/name_f], Middle [name_u]East[/name_u] and [name_u]Hawaii[/name_u] my child is of mixed heritage so I really like that her name feels reflective off this. Furthermore [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] honours my mum by following Jewish customs of using the first and last initial of the person your honouring name so she really pays tribute to mum! I like that [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] can go by different nicknames including [name_f]Lily[/name_f] + [name_f]Lil[/name_f] which I find adorable.
[name_u]Rose[/name_u] is another favourite of mine and comes in practically jointly with [name_f]Lilia[/name_f]. If I was to have a baby girl right this very second her name without any hesitation would be [name_u]Rose[/name_u]. I absolutely love [name_u]Rose[/name_u]
Sheās romantic, elegant, timeless, has gorgeous floral connotations and again is a family name for me. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] has cottagecore imagery attached which really appeals to me and my persona. [name_u]Rose[/name_u] makes me smile.
For boys itās all up in the air I have so many names that I actually could picture myself using [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. However my all time favourite boys name is [name_u]Noah[/name_u]. For me [name_u]Noah[/name_u] is just adorable heās soft, wholesome, outdoorsy, handsome, oozes peace and just feels cosy. I love [name_u]Noah[/name_u]! I also love that [name_u]Noah[/name_u] reminds me of my childhood as my mum would read me Noahās [name_m]Ark[/name_m] and this was my absolute favourite story. I think [name_u]Noah[/name_u] would be an adorable brother name for [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] as well so sweet and happy.
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
I realized rather recently that [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] is now my top name for a future daughter! It feels fun and fresh for a little girl, but also elegant for an adult. I like that it is a Biblical name. Finally, it is one of the only names Iāve ever had on my list that my mom actually likes.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m]
I think that [name_m]Peter[/name_m] is the name I think of most when I imagine having a little boy someday. I love the role models of [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] (one of the 12 disciples of Jesus) and [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_u]Pevensie[/name_u] from [name_f]Narnia[/name_f]. I think the name [name_m]Peter[/name_m] ages really nicely, and will always be a classic.
Reasons why I love [name_f]Sarai[/name_f]:
- a distinctive sound - sharp but with brightness, with a hint of the mystical
- a princess-y meaning but without feeling fussy
- a pleasing, balanced and interesting look - I love that -i ending
- a variant / twist on a classic, which I like
- āRaiā (rye) makes a cool, neutral leaning nickname
- [name_f]Sarai[/name_f] just makes me happy
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] is my favorite girl name of the moment as it honors my mother, my cousin, and so many other ancestors. Additionally, the very obvious literary connection plus all of the lesser known ones. I would use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] Baleen and call her [name_u]Alba[/name_u]. Such a sweet nickname with a beautiful sound
[name_m]Talmadge[/name_m] is likely my favorite boy name of the moment. I honestly cannot pinpoint a specific reason I love it so much except perhaps I just love the sound. There arenāt very many other names that sound similar that it could be confused with. It is unique but not made-up or too āout thereā. I really love alliterative names and I would use [name_m]Talmadge[/name_m] [name_m]Thor[/name_m] and call him [name_m]Taz[/name_m]. The one thing that held me back from loving [name_m]Talmadge[/name_m] was the lack of nickname potential. I didnāt love [name_u]Tal[/name_u], [name_u]Tally[/name_u], [name_f]Madge[/name_f], [name_m]Al[/name_m]. I thought of [name_u]Magi[/name_u] but thought that might be too stretchy. Then I heard someone go by [name_m]Taz[/name_m] and figured that would be such a cool nickname for [name_m]Talmadge[/name_m].
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] - because of the way she sounds, and looks, and evokes such a strong feeling. I love that her meaning relates to the word viatrix, āvoyager,ā and that it also means she who brings happiness/blessed.
