Why isn't my private message being sent?

I want to know why my private message has just been sitting in my outbox instead of going to my sent box. I have been waiting for over 12 hours, and it is still sitting there.

Can you PLEASE explain :?:

They sit in the Outbox until the person you sent it to has logged in and read it.

Then it transfers to sent messages.
