Wilaene?

[name]Just[/name] saw the name Wilaene on facebook and it intrigued me. [name]How[/name] would berries pronounce this? Is it too clunky to be cool?

[name]Will[/name]-ayne? It’s interesting.

[name]Will[/name]-en?
Hmm…sounds mighty exotic.

[name]Will[/name]-ayne is how I’d say it too. I don’t have a strong positive or negative reaction to it. Probably because my mind doesn’t have anything to really associate it with, name-wise.

I agree that the “aene” looks like it should be prn. “ayne”, but the only way I can say this name is wy-LEEN (like [name]Eileen[/name], but with a W). And I don’t like it – it looks made up and (at least with my prn., which is probably not correct) sounds too country/folksy for me. I am curious to know the actual pronunciation, though – and more about where the name came from.
