Wild Nature Baby Names - SJ Strum

I was watching this video a little while ago and I decided put a little commentary of the names mentioned here. Lmk if you want me to this for every “[name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name [name_f]Monday[/name_f]” video!

[name_u]Falcon[/name_u] - Fits the “wild” category, but maybe is a little “too wild.”

[name_m]Moss[/name_m] - A little short, but I think [name_f]Mossie[/name_f] would be really cute.

[name_f]Valley[/name_f] - Has a vintage sound even if it is modern; really cute!

[name_u]Briar[/name_u] - [name_f]My[/name_f] guess is that this one will be the favorite among the berries!

[name_m]Vine[/name_m] - I think it’s too associated with the app (RIP [name_m]Vine[/name_m]).

[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] - Weirdly, I don’t think this is “too wild.” I actually really like it, it reminds me of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Ingalls [name_u]Wilder[/name_u].

[name_u]Hunter[/name_u] - Fast fashion, already out of style.

[name_u]Forest[/name_u] - I love it for a boy! Probably the most obvious yet overlooked nature name.

[name_m]Lathan[/name_m] - Prn like [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] with an L. Not my favorite for that exact reason.

[name_u]Tempest[/name_u] - I love it! Something about it sounds dramatic (but in a good way).

[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] - Greek mythology!!! (That was my only comment…) It has a cool look with the Z and the Y.

Hemlock - Sounds similar to [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m], but without the cool connection.

[name_u]Everest[/name_u] - It has the fashionable “[name_u]Ever[/name_u]” sound without being [name_u]Everly[/name_u]. I really like this for either gender.

[name_f]Devereux[/name_f] - Very dramatic, but I’m not sure I like it very much.
[name_u]Montana[/name_u] - Nickname [name_m]Monty[/name_m] is ADORABLE! Nice meaning in “mountain.”

[name_f]Topanga[/name_f] - The most beautiful meaning (“Where the mountains meet the sea”), but I’m not really a fan of the sound.

[name_m]Ignacio[/name_m] - Means “fire,” cool sound and meaning! Multiple ways to prn this, my favorite is Eeg-nah-see-o. Lmk your favorite! Bonus nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m]!

[name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] - Similar to [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but less common. Might be a bit too “[name_f]Rhode[/name_f] [name_u]Island[/name_u]” for Americans, but others won’t have that connection.

[name_f]Enya[/name_f] - I think this is too associated with the singer, but it has the most gorgeous sound. Also means “fire.”

Coast - I prefer [name_u]Cove[/name_u], it sounds a little harsh and reminds me of coasters.

Let me know your opinions on these names. Favorites, least favorites, etc…

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you want me to make one of these for every “[name_u]Baby[/name_u] Name [name_f]Monday[/name_f]” video? It’s not too much work at all.

I like [name_u]Briar[/name_u], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_u]Everest[/name_u], and [name_f]Enya[/name_f]! I also like [name_u]Forest[/name_u] as a middle. Agree with you that I prefer [name_u]Cove[/name_u] to Coast–although COVID-19 has (hopefully temporarily) kind of ruined it for me. It was one of my favorite nature names before!

I love [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_f]Topanga[/name_f], [name_u]Briar[/name_u] and [name_u]Falcon[/name_u]. But I would actually use the first three.

Love this idea! [name_u]Love[/name_u] watching SJ’s videos, too.

My favourites are [name_u]Zephyr[/name_u] and [name_u]Everest[/name_u]. I also really like [name_u]Tempest[/name_u]. Honestly, the rest are kinda ‘out there’ for me. [name_u]Briar[/name_u] is beautiful and [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] is handsome. RIP [name_m]Vine[/name_m]!

Topanga actually brings Pangaea to mind!

I love [name_u]Falcon[/name_u] but I think it’s a little too much for an actual child.

Moss is so sweet. I also like Lichen which is along the same line.

I know so many Wilders- boys and girls! All of a sudden it’s booming. I really like it but hate the lack of nicknames. One [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] I know goes by Wildy (he’s 2 or 3) and I think it’s kinda odd.

Never heard of [name_m]Lathan[/name_m] before but makes me think of Leviathin. Not sure if that’s good or bad.

I adore Hemlock, but is it usable since it’s a type of popular (well known) poison?

I really like Coast and much prefer it to [name_u]Cove[/name_u] which is SO overused.

Thanks for making this post! Creative & fun, always good to see originality on the forums. If you have the time, seeing these each week would be awesome!

Falcon - I’m inclined to agree with you here. Maybe just a little bit too much for the average person, but it does have a spunky flair to it which could be appealing.

Moss - I met a [name_m]Moss[/name_m] a while ago. He suited the name! [name_m]Even[/name_m] as a name nerd it caught me off guard. Although a short spelling, a big name to wear. Definitely not opposed, if only a little hesitant.

Valley - I love [name_f]Valley[/name_f]! I prefer it as a nickname for [name_f]Valentina[/name_f], but [name_f]Valley[/name_f] on its own is delightful. Definitely, a favorite, and I would consider this myself.

Briar - [name_m]Favorite[/name_m] name on the list. This is my angel baby’s name.

Vine - [name_m]Even[/name_m] without the app association, this name feels like it would be hard to wear, with no obvious nicknames to increase desirability.

Wilder - Cute and spunky middle name! Feels as if it’s already in usage, which helps stop it from feeling too crazy.

Hunter - Not my style, feels a bit violent to me, but I can see the appeal - it’s a strong name.

Forest - [name_u]Love[/name_u] for a boy or a girl, I like it as a first name, but I love it as a middle name. Definitely hits the nature theme on the head.

Lathan - Spunky and unique. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] feels hard to imagine on a baby and those feelings sort of replicate for [name_m]Lathan[/name_m]. Not what I’d pick, but I’m not opposed to the name.

Tempest - Interesting. It reminds me of ‘temple’, but I don’t have much else to say about this one, sorry! Would have to come back to it.

Zephyr - Very Nameberry! [name_f]My[/name_f] partner is a big fan of Greek names so part of that has definitely rubbed off onto me. I see this name rising in popularity.

Hemlock - Another interesting one! I agree, it reminds me of [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m]. I don’t see this one taking off as a nature name, but it could make an unexpected and cute middle name.

Devereux - A brave option for a first name, but very elegant. Feels sort of [name_u]French[/name_u] - sorry if I’m way off, here! Didn’t do any research on this one.

Montana - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Montana[/name_u]! Not a big fan of the nickname [name_m]Monty[/name_m] for personal reasons however [name_u]Montana[/name_u] feels strong and unexpectedly sweet.

Topanga - I agree with you - beautiful meaning, but something about it doesn’t quite feel like a name. Perhaps it’s because I haven’t heard it before? Would have to come back to this!

Igancio - So cool and so fun! [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name on a pet in particular, if that isn’t too weird to say. [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] is a cool nickname! I’d pronounce it Igg-Nah-See-O, so very similar to you. I could also pronounce it with a ‘neigh’ sound and be fine with it.

Rhodes - Feels very surname to me. I’ve encountered many people with the surname [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m]! Still, could make for an interesting name, especially for a baby boy.

Enya - SO COOL! I love it. I don’t associate it too much with the singer. I definitely associate it with its meaning, fire.

Coast - Doesn’t feel super namey to me, but a cute sound! Feels very beachy and summery, so could be an option for a [name_f]Summer[/name_f] baby or beach-loving parents.

Love [name_m]Ignacio[/name_m], [name_f]Enya[/name_f] (although very associated with the singer), [name_f]Valley[/name_f], and [name_u]Forest[/name_u].

Hemlock is cool! I like [name_u]Forest[/name_u], [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] and [name_f]Enya[/name_f] too. I think [name_m]Moss[/name_m] could be a nice, soft middle name for a boy, and [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] has potential.
