I recently started liking the name [name]Wilda[/name]. I am not fond of [name]Hilda[/name] and [name]Gilda[/name], but for some reason [name]Wilda[/name] has a freeing feeling to me. Maybe it is the “[name]Wild[/name]” part. Does anyone else agree? Or does it sound to old and frumpy?
I also kind of like it hyphenated. For example, [name]Wilda[/name]-[name]Rose[/name], [name]Wilda[/name]-[name]June[/name], [name]Wilda[/name]-[name]Faye[/name]
I love [name]Wilda[/name] and [name]Wylda[/name], but non one else seems to when I put it on boards. My only worry is people would say ‘will-dah’ rather than ‘wild-ah’ and wildebeest will be the connection everyone makes.
I love it. Prefer it with a y - [name]Wylda[/name] “[name]WILL[/name]-dah” Yes it has a windy, wild, willowy feeling.
I’m fond of [name]Hilde[/name] too, despite the fat, braided Valkyrie association… [name]Gilda[/name] is great, though some say too old-ladyish. I just think of beautiful [name]Rita[/name] Hayworth with all her shiny hair. And [name]Tilda[/name]… Ms Swinton.
I wasn’t sure if I should pronounce it [name]Will[/name]-duh or [name]Wild[/name]-ah. I am not a fan of [name]Wilder[/name], and [name]Wilda[/name] doesn’t appeal to me either. I would actually prefer it pronounced [name]Will[/name]-duh so it can break free from the “wild” association.
My mind went straight for [name]Jocelyn[/name] Wildenstein. [name]Ah[/name]!!

This name has really grown on me with the spelling [name]Wylda[/name]. The British artist [name]Sam[/name] [name]Taylor[/name]-[name]Wood[/name] called one of her daughters [name]Wylda[/name] [name]Rae[/name] (sister to [name]Romy[/name] [name]Hero[/name] which i think is an amazing sibset!). I think is quite lovely, it has a windswept, bewitching quality to it. I had always thought that it was pronounced [name]Wild[/name]-ah but Of course it totally makes sense that it could rhyme with [name]Hilda[/name], [name]Gilda[/name] and [name]Tilda[/name]; i’m not sure which pronounciation i prefer.
It’s not y style but I think it it works better spelled [name]Wylda[/name].

I like the pronunciation [name]WILL[/name]-dah too. [name]Wild[/name]-ah is fine too. I do agree that the [name]Wylda[/name] spelling looks nice. I know a girl named [name]Wilma[/name]. At first her name seemed to old fashioned but after seeing it on her I really like it. I think this is why [name]Wilda[/name]/[name]Wylda[/name] sounds lovely to me.
Wildebeest is all I think of. This one is inevitable and cruel.

I dislike all of the -ilda names.
I don’t like it, in the same way that I don’t like [name]Hilda[/name] or [name]Gilda[/name] either. I think it sounds a frumpy old maid.
