Just brainstorming with my husband about names. We want to at some point use the middle name Wilde for a girl or boy. This was my moms maiden name and she eventually made it her middle name. Last name is 2 syllables.
We are thinking of:
Lucille Wilde (Lucy)
We agree on the boy combo but the girl one we are stuck. We plan to be surprised for our first. We decided on the girl combo BUT when googled, a pornstar (lucie wilde) comes up. I think I could be willing to ignore this because this person may not be as popular once our girl is even old enough to google… but I’m not sure.
(We are aware of the despicable me character Lucy Wilde and it does not bother us… we like the movie and like the Lucille option for that reason…)
What would you do? We could try a different first but I feel like my husband has vetoed most lol. I like the vintage vibe and he seems to like simple & plain? Not sure he has a style lol. We are open to other firsts that are short or can be shortened. I usually like a vintage name with a twist (or the option for a nickname). But, would you stick with our choice even with the google stuff?
We are thinking for our first either:
*Jack Wilde or Zoe Caroline
(We also love Zoe Wilde but are nervous about not getting to use Caroline somewhere… also not crazy at CB initials because that’s mine… we go back and forth on this a lot).
[name_u]Wilde[/name_u] is such a great family name to have! [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] is great and avoids the potential negative association. [name_u]Jack[/name_u] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] and [name_u]Zoe[/name_u] [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] fit well together, too. If you have a girl first (Zoe Wilde), you could also consider using a masculine form of [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as a middle name for [name_u]Jack[/name_u]. [name_u]Charles[/name_u] is the obvious one, but something like [name_u]Carlisle[/name_u], [name_m]Carlton[/name_m], or [name_u]Carter[/name_u] would work as well.
I think [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] ‘Lucy’ [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] would be fine!
She’s more likely to search ‘Lucy [surname]’ or ‘Lucille [surname]’ that just [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]?
Plus, since there’s the Despicable Me character, I think that will be more likely what people think of if they think of anything? And I don’t think it would be considered purposefully - [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is a popular enough name.
Some ideas, if you decide against [name_f]Lucille[/name_f]:
[name_f]Lina[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] (a nod to Caroline)
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_u]Dana[/name_u] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] (a nod to Dwayne)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u]
Not sure this is still helpful input but I love Zoe Wilde best - it’s a zippy, spunky name that crosses a few categories. I find Lucille Wilde a bit less enjoyable to say and hear (a lot of middle of mouth I’s & L‘s). I would go Zoe! Caroline Wilde flows really well as pp says but I prefer Zoe as a first (incl because I like the nicknames better). Caroline us nicer as a middle to me where it’s said in full.
