Wilder

What are everyone’s thoughts on the name [name]Wilder[/name]? It’s one of those names that I have had in the back of my mind for a long time but never seriously considered it. I’m curious as to what kind of reactions I would get from others. We would probably call him [name]Wilder[/name] most of the time, but maybe occasionally [name]Wiley[/name]. What are some middle names that you think would work well with it? [name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jack[/name] came to my mind, but that’s about it. I would probably want something more common as [name]Wilder[/name] is a bit out there.

I love, love, love [name]Wilder[/name]! I see it as more of a MN for me, but I really love it. [name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jack[/name] is really cute. I also like [name]Jack[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]. I have also really loved [name]Calvin[/name] [name]Wilder[/name] in the past–[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Calvin[/name] would be cool, too.

I want my first thought to be [name]Laura[/name] Ingalls [name]Wilder[/name], but unfortunately [name]Van[/name] [name]Wilder[/name] is the main image I get. I would be hesitant about using it as a first name in case it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and you end up with a fifteen-year-old doing keg stands.

I really like [name]Wilder[/name], and the combo [name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jack[/name] is awesome! only I semi-agree with the previous post… it’s a bit too “wild” for me to ever use as a first name, makes me wonder if the kid would turn out super shy (a bit odd to me) or super wild. I’d like it in the MN spot.

I think of [name]Laura[/name] Ingalls so it feels like a rugged, cowboy-ish name. [name]Wilder[/name] [name]James[/name] sounds better to me

Part of me likes it because it sounds handsome and pleasing to the ear. It also sounds cool and interesting. Another part of me doesn’t care for it because it just reminds me of the verb [name]Wilder[/name].

Thanks everyone for the opinions! [name]Wilder[/name] [name]James[/name] is handsome, but I have a few [name]James[/name]’ in my family and they aren’t men I really want to name my son after.

I really like [name]Wilder[/name], it reminds me of my good friend Rowdy :stuck_out_tongue:
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]James[/name] is nice
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Dean[/name] (really like!!)
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Scott[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Preston[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Clark[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Shane[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Brian[/name]/[name]Bryan[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Travis[/name]
[name]Wilder[/name] [name]Michael[/name]

Ok so it makes me think of [name]Van[/name] [name]Wilder[/name], like the from the movie lol
I guess I’m weird but def not sold on it as a name, maybe you could look at W names like: [name]Wilson[/name], [name]Wade[/name], [name]Weston[/name], [name]Wyatt[/name]
or look at names with similar meanings, I found it may mean hunter and wild…

Ugh! It is a name used by that insipid [name]Goldie[/name] Hawn family. [name]One[/name] of their grandson’s names is [name]Wilder[/name]…along with [name]Ryder[/name]. And you know what insipid means.

I love [name]Wilder[/name] and have it on my own list. To me, it evokes a free, natural, untamed Western vibe. [name]Wilder[/name] [name]James[/name] could be a good combo for you. Or [name]Wilder[/name] [name]Jacob[/name].

I think [name]Wilder[/name] has style in the middle name spot it emphasises the first name but [name]Wilder[/name] in the first name spot makes me feel like the parents were trying too hard (sorry).

Combos that I like

[name]Patrick[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Isaac[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Elliot[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Barnaby[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Jonathan[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]
[name]Colton[/name] [name]Wilder[/name] if you want a [name]Wild[/name] [name]West[/name] theme
[name]William[/name] [name]Wilder[/name]

rollo

If you feel the need to use it, it should be in the middle. All I hear is wild, like you’re labeling your child as a wild child.

I love [name]Wilder[/name]! We’re considering it for one of our twins, if we use it we’re also using the NN [name]Wiley[/name] from time to time!

We are thinking of using the spelling Wylder because my DH’s grandmothers maiden name was Wylds, so we think thats a good connection but I think we’ll probably just use [name]Wilder[/name] to avoid confusion.
