Wilhelmina

I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], and so does DH. I currently have it in the middle name spot but as my fondness for longer names is coming to the forefront I am considering putting this as a first name.

What are your opinions and associations with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]?

I am crushing on the sibset [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] & [name_f]VIvianna[/name_f] ([name_f]Mina[/name_f], [name_f]Nola[/name_f] & [name_f]Vivi[/name_f])

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]! It reminds me of Dracula! Also I love the nn [name_f]Mina[/name_f]

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is great! I don’t have particular associations with it. When I was younger, I used to think it was too old and stuffy, but I don’t feel that way now. My favourite nickname is [name_f]Willa[/name_f], but [name_f]Mina[/name_f] is lovely too.

I love it! I don’t have any strong associations but it sounds strong and grounded and elegant.

I love [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]! [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is one of my favorites rn so that’s my favorite nn, but [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] is cute too and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be adorable

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is such an underused name! It definitely deserves a revival. I love nicknames [name_f]Mina[/name_f] and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] too! No association I can think of.
The sibset works too, I’d love to meet siblings with those names.

I love it, it’s a bit grand for a little girl, but nicknames like [name_f]Mina[/name_f] and the more modern [name_f]Willa[/name_f] make it wearable. [name_f]Mina[/name_f] is also one of my favourite nicknames.

I think [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is beautiful! I have a friend who’s grandma was named [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and she was a wonderful woman so my associations with it are good. I love the sibset of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivianna[/name_f], they sound like the cutest trio

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is quite nice and stately. Need a middle that is just as forthcoming like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
However: if you would like to add some whimsy without the fuss: [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f],
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f],
[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]

Thank you so much for the kind worded replies on your opinions about the name!
Better than how my Mum reacted XD

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is lovely – elegant and classy, but still playful. I like the fact that there are so many nicknames to choose from, but my absolute favourite has to be [name_m]Wim[/name_m]. Your potential sibset of [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] and [name_f]Vivianna[/name_f] is very nice.

[[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to add: I do say [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] as wil-hehl-MEE-nuh myself, though I think many might say will-uh-MEE-nuh – how are you pronouncing it? I think that that -hel- (Hell) part (in sound and look) could potentially put off some people (perhaps that’s what your mother reacted to?) If the pronunciation becomes an issues at all, perhaps you could consider [name_f]Willemina[/name_f], the predominantly Dutch feminine form.]
