[name_u]Will[/name_u] a baby named [name_f]Violet[/name_f] be trapped into a theme of purple, violet flowers, etc? If you saw a baby named [name_f]Violet[/name_f] wrapped into a blanket swaddle covered in roses and her crib set was roses and pinks etc, would you think it to be silly or ironic? [name_u]Honest[/name_u] thoughts! Thanks!!
Not at all! I think Violet has been around and is a common enough name for people to disassociate it from the color and flower just a bit, like in your example, I wouldnât think twice of baby Violet being wrapped in a blanket with roses or lilies etc., or a Violet who paints her room bright orange. If it were a more unique flower name like Azalea or Tulip I think the association would be more prominent. Hope my mini rant helps!
[name_f]My[/name_f] daughterâs name is [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and I had similar thoughts cross my mind while pregnant but the name is just her now and it doesnât matter what floral pattern or color she wears.
The only [name_f]Violet[/name_f] I know has a mother obsessed with purple, who passed on her obsession, so it really fits. But no, I donât think people really think about this kind of thing. Like, every little [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] doesnât have to exclusively choose those patterns and colours, etc.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] is so namey that I donât think it will be an issue
No I really donât think itâs an issue, and I say this as someone who loves the name [name_f]Violet[/name_f], the colour purple, and floral everything.
As a [name_f]Violet[/name_f] myself, I personally havenât had any issues. You only ever get the occasional âViolet Youâre turning Violetâ joke but otherwise Iâve never had an issue with the purple association.
I donât think so either
I donât think so!! [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is very much a name, just like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I never would think it odd if a [name_f]Violet[/name_f] likes colors or flowers other than violet! Itâs very different than naming your child Purple.
I agree with others that [name_f]Violet[/name_f] has become much more name-y than anything else. Come to think of it, I rarely even say [name_f]Violet[/name_f] for a colorâŚI just say purple.
Not going to lie, part of me would think it absolutely adorable to use a violet swaddle for a baby [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but I donât think it is something everyone would default to.
Most people arenât going to notice or pay attention to something like that. Plus babies are only babies for a short period of their lifes. I doubt any adult woman named [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is going to feel pressured to wear purple clothes etc.
I have a [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and she has floral everything thatâs probably more my doing than anyone elseâs though.
Thank you all for the reassurance! So much anxiety over picking names
I dont think so. I know many people who have flower and colour names that donât feel tied to the colour just because of their name, they like other colours and their names havenât stopped them from being able to.
I have a sister named [name_f]Violet[/name_f], and the only reason she was ever âtrapped in a themeâ is because she was a younger sister to me. I had pink things and she had purple. But those were only sometimes and really, on rare occasion. Her name didnât stop her from wearing whatever colors she wanted, having daisies all over her room, loving the colors yellow and green, etc. Same goes for my cousin named [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]!
I donât think so. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is well known as being a name like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] or [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think itâs very pretty!
Probably not
âViolet, youâre turning violet, Violet!â
