Will these age well?

Hiya berries

As a teenberry searching for a new name, one of my biggest concerns with any name is whether it will age well or not. A good deal of the names that I’ve considered for myself end up being scrapped because they seem like they’ll only fit someone ages twenty and under. I do also worry about the “professionalism” of a name - my age group tends to be less daringly named than the babies of today. Would a woman in 2015 named something like [name]Seraphina[/name] or [name]Lyra[/name] be taken less seriously than an [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Rebecca[/name]?

Considering that, do you think that [name]Seraphina[/name], [name]Valentina[/name], and [name]Lyra[/name] can age well?

[name]Seraphina[/name] - don’t know anyone by this name. I think it’s less frilly and cutesy spelled [name]Serafina[/name], looks more grown up too.

[name]Valentina[/name] - I’ve got a friend, a lawyer!, by this name. She’s 35 and wears it very well.

[name]Lyra[/name] - Absolutely, this one is fine. Not cutesy, just a very pretty special name.

I think [name]Valentina[/name] and [name]Lyra[/name] are fine professionally, but that [name]Seraphina[/name] might be a bit of a stretch.

My best friend’s mother is named Serafina (she’s Cuban) and she’s a PHD and a biologist. She rules. Friends call her Fina.

I also have a friend named Valentina who is in her mid twenties and she works in advertising. She does pretty well. I think her name is very pretty.

I don’t know any Lyra’s, but it’s a nice name. It’s not cutesy like… I always wonder how people will view people who name their kids like, Brynleigh and Addisyn all those Y trendy spellings. Those names are fine until you’re like, in high school, but it would seem they wouldn’t age well. (PS, no offense to anyone who likes trendy spellings or has a oddly spelled name, I just can’t with those haha. It doesn’t make the name any more unique. Addisyn is still Addison).

I also know a [name]Valentina[/name] but mine’s an engineer  She’s 27. It suits her fine

I think as long as a name is genuinely a name then it’ll age fine. I don’t understand people who say certain names only suit children etc.

[name]Seraphina[/name] - As much as I love it, I don’t see it aging well, but I hope it will. [name]Seraphina[/name] Affleck is my guinea pig I’m watching. lol I do see it being taken less seriously than [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Rebecca[/name]. It has that sugary feel that doesn’t feel so serious.

[name]Valentina[/name] - Most definitely! I see it aging well. Dashingly really. I see it being taken seriously, it’s the perfect balance really.

[name]Lyra[/name] - I think it could, but I don’t know 100% really. I see it being taken seriously just fine.

I agree that [name]Valentina[/name] probably has the best staying power. I think they’d all be taken more seriously in general than very trendy or made-up sounding names. Of the 3, I think [name]Seraphina[/name] would feel the most out of place on an old lady, but none are frilly enough as to only be acceptable for a little girl.

As I mentioned above, my friend’s mom is named [name]Serafina[/name] and she is 58. [name]Serafina[/name]/[name]Seraphina[/name] isn’t some new name that just popped up, it’s been around for a long time.

I don’t think that it has to do with being a new name, it just doesn’t have that mature feel/imagery to it.
I heard the same things about the name [name]Adria[/name], and I’ve met a woman was was in her 70s name [name]Adria[/name].

[name]Valentina[/name] definitely skews oldest & most professional & I also like it most! None are unprofessional imo or too childish sounding

I think all of those names would age fine, they’re beautiful names that i don’t think would be taken any less seriously than a [name]Rebecca[/name] or an [name]Eleanor[/name].

[name]Seraphina[/name] - is my least favorite. It reminds me of Saphires and I have a hard time taking it seriously -> that would probably change if I meet a down to earth and adult [name]Seraphina[/name] instead of just a screaming 5 year old named [name]Seraphina[/name] with uber hipster parents.
[name]Valentina[/name] - I went to school with a boy named [name]Valentin[/name] so to me this sound perfectly timeless.
[name]Lyra[/name] - I like [name]Lyra[/name] a lot and I can imagine someone in their 30’s, 50’s and 70’s being able to cary this with grace.

[name]Lyra[/name] is my favorite. I think it’s the freshest without seeming young or linked to a decade.
