[name]Hi[/name] berries! I need your feedback on the following names that end with -lla. I loved them but I have one main concern and that is whether will these names age well. I find these names are cute on babies and children, but it is too cute for an adult?
I think [name]Arabella[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name] are fine. I know an adult [name]Arabella[/name] and the name suits her perfectly. I’m not so sure about [name]Ella[/name]. I’m sure it would sound fine on an adult, but it’s kind of a trendy name, so many not age well in that sense.
[name]Arabella[/name] is just way too much frill for my liking. I picture a baby, not a grown person.
[name]Ella[/name] is much more versatile, I see it on all ages, [name]Isabella[/name] is a bit more spunky but still versatile. I actually know of an [name]Isabella[/name] nn [name]Ella[/name].
I think they all age well…I know women with all these names and they all suit them. I find names with an ee sound on the end ([name]Daisy[/name], [name]Cindy[/name], [name]Millie[/name] etc) much harder to picture on grown women. I think the ‘a’ sounding ending is quite elegant.
I agree with Renrose! Most names age just fine as the people with those names age. There are probably some exception ([name]Princess[/name] maybe?), but the ones you listed should be fine.
I can picture grown up women. I had doubts about [name]Arabella[/name] but I’ve met a 28 year old [name]Arabelle[/name] once and now it’s fine with me.
I think [name]Isabella[/name] is in danger of becoming dated, much like the names [name]Jennifer[/name] and [name]Heather[/name]. [name]Arabella[/name] is just too little-girlish for my taste. I think [name]Ella[/name] is a beautiful name for a baby, a teenager, and an adult and while it may be trendy now, I don’t think it will be considered dated in the future.
